Because my Father in Law got me hooked.. While on vacation with him we golfed some great courses out of the country.. Now I just love to play every second I can because this is the only sport that I know I will never master.

Can't believe how well we both shot together.. Between the new Ping G5 driver and the pull cart I am very grateful to have a in law as good as he is. Cheers Zaphod. Nice going Chad & congrats on the Clicgear, John had said he wanted to get you one a few weeks ago at Waushara.
And what's with The Oaks anyways? Doesn't look like many trees at all there, more of a links style course from what I can see.

I also empasis on my personal feeling , and the most important personal attitudes towards everything I am doing.
My father and little brother got me into it 5 years ago and I have been hooked ever since.
That feeling of euphoria striking the ball out of the centre of a club. hitting greens in regulation, 1 putting, hitting a shot that you can just tell all the way that it will end up near the flag, finishing a round with that satisfied feeling that lasts the rest of the day when I break my handicap.
All these reasons are what keep me coming back for more even when I've just had a stinker.
the reason why i play golf ,just enjoying the processing of playing golf . not the result ! i can breath the fresh air on the course of the golf .
I get so little outside with my busy schedule, so golf is a great "excuse"
Also, I enjoy trying to take my playing to the next level! (hopefully will beat 80 soon!)
a man's job?

I play because of days like today. You see, I'm generally pretty much a hacker in that I'm not too upset as long as my scores remain in the two digit range. Today was an exception though. I went to a course that normally slaps me around like a red headed stepchild and wound up having one of those rare really good days. I managed an honest 77 which I'm pretty sure is the best score I ever pulled off....ever...anywhere...
I realize that next time I play this course I will probably come home with my tail tucked firmly between my legs but, for today anyway, I kicked it's butt and, although none of you know me from Adam, I'm cashing in my bragging rights.

I love whores!
Hello all, I just became a member of ShotTalk.
"Why do I play golf?" what a perfect topic for my 1st post.
I play golf because it's an escape, it's my way to relieve myself from the pressures of life. I play because of the feeling I get when I hit a shot exactly as I visualized. There is no better reward for me than the feeling I get when I pulling off an awesome shot, especially if it was a pressure situation. I love the fact that golf is a science and an art. I love learning the physics of golf, shaping shots every which way on the driving range and then being artistic enough to apply them in a trouble situation on the course. I love the fact that the playing field is never the same unlike other sports. I could literally come up with a thousand reasons why I play and write an epic saga which would be full of tragedies obscured by a few miracles. Because golf is so humbling and difficult it makes all the good things that much more sweet. I know that when I'm playing badly on the course, it could always be worse but it's the hope and anticipation of a great shot that brings me back every Sunday.
