Should I go to FL?

My boss is going to FL on Mon. with his son. He wants to bring his bike back in a truck that is at the shop in FL. I need to clarify the deal but he said he'd pay my plane ticket down and $300 to drive the truck back. I'd be playing 2-3 rounds down in Ft. Lauderdale area then driving back prob. Thurs. morning to Fri. afternoon. There is no work right now, dead as heck until about the 14th of the month. We'd prob. be playing 4some as the manager down there (Steve) plays as well. I play with my boss and his son all the time during the reg. season here. I've played with Steve 3 times as well. It would be fun as we are all about the same, high 80's to low 90's on a tougher track.

Should I go? I'll have to spin it to make it sound good with the GF. Chances are the $300 will be blown for sure down there.

OK. Well I clarified it with the boss and that is the deal. $300 to drive the truck plus my plane ticket. He's going to talk about it tomorrow and see if he can get a 3rd ticket on that flight. GF seems OK with it as I explained I'd actually be saving money since I'd just be spending money on something here if I stay and not bringing any in. Plus I have a 20 hr. check in my wallet still and one for just over 40 coming Fri. to give her.

300 bucks doesn't seem like very much cash for that long of a drive. Try and squeeze 5 out of him.

300/24 hrs = $12.50 per hour

Pretty crappy for a stressful drive IMO. This is a no brainer.

If you want to get nit picky, find out how many miles of a drive it is. The going rate is between .35 to .40 cents a mile give or take.

Unfortunately he won't go for that without a load coming back. I'm driving a truck with only his HD on it. It's not that stressful at all. I'll prob. try to take it into the Jersey Pike, sleep a few hours, take it home and sleep when I get there. Either that or the rest stop in MD, as long as I knock out VA I'm happy.
