New putting tip

I don't know how many of you watched the PODs championship today but I herd this putting tip for one of the commentaries said that if you putt a penny on linoleum it will help you putt better. I'm trying it out and it isn't quite as easy as it sounds. I masking taped the bottom of my putter so it didn't get all scratched up. Could you guys try it and comment back on what you think of the tip?
Thanks

I heard Johnny Miller mention it inbetween him saying "DOTTIE" and "TIGER" a million times. Something about that was his practice drill in college, that he would try to putt a penny on linoleum.. If you are not dead on you will skip over the penny, or hit the floor first and totally miss it. Sounds like a really hard drill to do. Im reluctant to do it since putting on carpet has messed me up a ton.

Thats what I was talking about. I tryed it then I went and used a ball and it seemed to help me putt the ball straighter for some reason.

Putting a penny...? That sounds pretty weird to me....

I'll give it a shot though anyway

I have never heard that one but I have heard of a drill where you put a quarter down and a dime on top of it. The goal is to putt the dime without moving the quarter. I have never tried this though.

Take a penny and place in on any hard floor surface. The objective is to make a putt and you should hit the penny and you shouldn't hit the floor. If you do it correctly, it'll improve your putting stroke by keeping it as close to the ground as possible without lifting it up.

I like the idea of placing a penny on top of another penny and putting the top one off (as somebody has already mentioned).
