Interesting twist

I am sure most of you have or do record different parts of your round.
Today we changed it a bit, I took notes on the other guys round and he took notes on mine. It was very interesting to get a different perspective on how you play.
I have play well over 100 rounds with these guys and we have critiqued each other before but some of the shots I thought were good were recorded with notes like this.
435 yard par 4. Trees right high rough left. I wanted to hit just left of center of the fairway but he wrote, stay away from left, very difficult if off fairway.
I did get into the rough but it was even cut so I was able to get to the green but on the opposite side that I wanted. He wrote, from this rough he will be hard pressed to get close to the green.
I really went after the putt, about a 30 footer and missed low and past by 8 foot. He wrote, just lag it to the hole and make your par.
I miss my par putt and tap in for bogey.
He wrote, although he reached the green in 2 he was in no position to try for birdie but went for it and it cost him a stroke. he must work on putting.
I really enjoyed the fresh look at my game and it was fun really watching the others play.
We did not see the notes until after the round so there would be no trying to outdo each other or someone getting upset about what was written.
Sorry for the long post but I could not explain it in a shorter one.

Interesting...let me understand this.

As you were preparing to hit your 30 foot putt, was the guy writing his comments? Meaning, he wrote his comments on that situation before you putted the ball??

I like your story...it is the first time I have heard of this concept.

Maybe I can get a good friend to try it with me. How long did it take you to play? It must have taken longer than normal because rather than spending time to line up your own shot - you would be writing comments on the other player.

3 hours and 45 minutes. It added about 25 minutes to our normal round.
