So, I was lucky enough to hit the local muny for a round this afternoon. I get to the tenth, a 275 yarder. I was killing the FT-3/Creation, (thanks Rock) so I went for it, and hit it about fifty yards left and OB. Re-tee, and top my drive left about 100 yards behind some trees. Awesome. So I'm up against the trees that line the fairway, and the only shot is to try to cut it around the end of the line. So, I pull my 4 iron, aim about forty yards left, open the face to face the target, and square the face by turning my shoulders (This is how I was taught to turn the ball). I took my normal swing, and wouldn't you know it, the ball takes off on line, and slices about 30-40 yards around the trees, on to the green to four feet! Drained the putt for the best bogey I've ever made. I love hitting shots that you never forget.

Meah, 73 on a short par 66. Lots of penalty strokes because some longer holes have OB right against them. Chipped and pitched like a madman, which is great because I've been practicing all winter in the basement. Hit tons of great putts that didn't go in. All in all, good start to the season!

I had one the other day. Playing with 2fast but he was way right, I was way left stuck behind a tree. The 2 guys we were playing with saw it and they were drop jawed by it.

Stuck behind a tree off a bare lie, 130 or so to an elevated green, bunkers both side. I shut the face on an 8iron and threw a trap draw out there that just hooked right between the bunkers and ran up to about 12 ft., on the green pin high. I've got a knack for hitting shots like that, it's the straight up shots from the middle of the fairway that baffle me.

I was hitting a cut all day and got greedy. Aimed left, then pulled the living poop out of it. I messed up three drives on the day, and all can be attributed to a failure to disengage the brain drive. First one I hit on the course was a perfect cut that drove a par four in one. 4 for 7 fairway with it first time out, and those four were at least 265. Absolute cannon, I'm thrilled.
