Been hitting the bottle a bit early today Eracer or are we seeing the after effects from last evening?
In reference to the original question:
Chipping can be done with a variety of clubs. I use a 52* wedge for chipping downhill or to fast greens. Uphill and slow greens I can go all the way to an 8 iron for chipping. Standard chipping club is my Ping Eye 2+ PW. I let the lie and the situation dictate which club I screw up the chip with.
The range of a 52* wedge is going to vary from person to person. I have bladed my 52* and gotten about 170 yards (including a helpful bounce of the roof of the house behind the green) with it and chunked it in the rough for a total of about 1 yard. With wedges, I normally do not take a full
swing so my max normal range with the 52* is around 100 yards with my normal wedge swing, but typical get about 80-90 yards on it with a little less of a back swing. Its more of a feel club for me.
IMHO, the Yes C-Grooves are the best of the putters you listed, but as Rock will eventually tell you, putters are very personal. What works for me may not work for you. The best way to find a putter is to go to your local golf shop (Golfsmith, Golf Galaxy, Edwin Watts, etc) and putt with every model they have available. One will eventually sing to you and you will buy it (along with several others if you get too addicted to this board :laugh
Hope this helps,
