New eBay feedback system, your thoughts...

Just wondering how everyone felt about eBay's new feedback system. Basically, Sellers can no longer leave negative/neutral feedback for a Buyer.

Not sure how I feel about this. what are your thoughts?

I did a deal on there yesterday. you can still leave - or + but theres another part to it. You leave how satisfied you were with a 5 star process. Thats how it was yesterday.

ok, here's the situation.

An buyer emailed me asking about the condition of the crown, any paint chips? sky marks?. I sent him a picture, he bid onthe item and won.

After he pays, I get an email from him saying that he got the email with pictures after the auction ended.

Now I feel like he is completely unsatisfied and that this transaction is headed for doom. I feel like his expectations are for the club to be in pristine like new condition when I clearly stated that the driver was used ( I think we can assume here that there will be some normal wear and tear, no?)

I DON'T LIKE IT! ! !

For the 1st time last week I wanted to leave Negative feedback for a Buyer. The guy was a total arse. He paid quickly enough after the auction had ended. Basically I went off my Nut at him because he opened a dispute without even sending me a message or Email 1st. The irons he won off me hadn't arrived within ten days of the end of the auction. I sent them via a guaranteed 48 hour service and gave him the tracking details etc the day after he won the auction. The DICK didn't take the time to let me know the irons hadn't arrived otherwise I would have chased them up. It was a problem with the Courior company - neither mine or his fault but the 1st thing I knew about the problem was when £115 was taken out of my account via paypal to hold incase they needed to refund him. Fortanatly I had enough money in my account to pay my bills but if I didn't that would have cost me bank charges. He rekon's he did nothing wrong but I rekon he's a FOOL if he would have sent me a message I would have sorted it out for him. I have 470+ positive feedback so he should have been fairly confident that I had sent them....FOOL....To get back to the point I wanted to leave him negative feedback saying VERY POOR COMMS but they've changed the system that bloody week!!!

Sorry to hear that Manchester.

Sellers can't leave negative feedback? Dumb. I hate it.

MG's tale is exactly the reason that the new system SUCKS!

Sellers should be able to warn other sellers about a buyer's bad habits. Maybe they dispute everything. Maybe they are VERY slow payers. Sellers have the right to know.

I think buyers do deserve neg. feedback when necessary.

The problem is that a lot of sellers will retaliate against negative feedback by leaving their own, even if they are CLEARLY in the wrong.

I think the best system would be one where the seller must leave feedback FIRST. I bought a DVD, and it took 14 days to get to me. That is RIDICULOUS. I want to leave Neutral feedback at best, as this is just pure incompetance, but I'm risking a retaliatory "things happen *******" message.

This system isn't good, but it protects buyers from unjustified negs. Maybe I'll email ebay about it.

If I read it correctly, a seller can leave a positive or a short comment. I know that doesn't change the buyers rating, but it won't increase and the comment can be negative.

I think it sucks. I have guy right now who purchased some shafts from me. Buyer has no feed back, and is new to Ebay. Sent him an invoice on Monday, emailed him yesterday, and again today, this jerk does not even have the decency to let me know whether or not he intends to pay for the item or what. I'll push this one to the maximum that I can. This is going to cause a bunch of problems, and cause sellers a bunch of trouble. Typical liberal bussiness model.

Ebay is a racket anyways. Insertion fees, fees for percentage of reserve, fees for percentage of final selling price, then they take a cut of the paypal transaction. Time for everyone to move on to something else, I say. And don't get me started on the so called "buyer protection" that that is given by paypal. Much safter to just mail a check. At least you know where your money went.

I don't like it. It's going to drive me to sell for a little less on here and WRX now. I've been lucky so far but it's only a matter of time before someone will try to burn you selling stuff on there. After all the fees plus having to pay for insurance and delivery confirmation it's not worth it. I'd rather sell to one of you guys, not have to worry about paying for the delivery confirmation or insurance. I know you guys wouldn't try to burn me and if I can get a set of China to FL with my boss driving the truck, I'm sure I can pack a golf club well enough to make it.

That is why every email has a time stamp on it. Just refer to the stamp for your defense. It's as easy as that.
