Charlie Howell - Sergio/Hogan like lag?

A nice but quirky swing, opinions welcome

All good lag, but i think Sergio and Charles struggle to square it as much as Mr Hogan did.

I love watching Sergio hitting the ball. He's got to be one of the best iron strikers on Tour without a doubt.

Yeah, he is awesome to watch, both Sergio and Howell. I think Sergios lag is exaggerated like Hogans because of the rerouting down and inside.

I should imagine Garcia is as good at ball striking as Hogan ever was.

I use Sergio's swing as a reminder to come from the inside. It really is a great swing.

Howell also. For a little guy, he can really poind it. Sergio pounds it as well, he's much bigger than CH3 tho

CH3 must be smaller than I thought. I was within about 2 feet of Sergio at the Wachovia Championship, and he is a smaller guy to me. It was an eye opener to me to see just how small the tour guys really are, and how they can just crush the ball with such smooth swings.

CH3 is the exact same build as me.

5'11"
155 lbs.

He hits it much much longer than I do LOL.

He's also a 1/2 inch taller than me also. That's gotta be the difference

There ya go! Let us remember how little difference in the golf swing can have a huge impact

I don't think these handsy swings are a very good model for recreational golfers. Adds another element of timing into the swing that seems unnecessary.

You do get quite a good feel for the club when your hands are active though. I hit a stupid long draw yesterday, aimed about 35* out to the right. Body move at the ball and flipped the hands into the ball. Absolutely perfect.

If you have zero tension in your body, arms and hands you will get the proper amount of lag in any swing. The problem is, almost everyone of us have tension in our swing and we don't even know it.

Thats a swing
