Is it possible

went to a course that i played earlier this yr. both times i have played it i have been terrible.this is a fairly easy course i used to play it in the high 70`s low 80`s.its par 70.

but the last 2 times out i have been in the high 90`s with today being a 96 (with 2 birds on the back)

is it possible that i am taking the course for granted and losing concentration?or am i just knucklehead?

maybe you just don't play that course well? Listened to Kenny Perry a few minutes ago & he said he's skipping the US Open because he doesn't play Torrey Pines very well. If a pro golfer who has just won the Memorial for the 3rd time can't play well on certain courses, why can't use mere mortals do the same?

I know there are a few courses near me that have easy slope ratings, in the 117-118 range & par is 72 but I simply suck on them....not that I can't suck on any course on any given day

what you say makes sense but i used to play this course 5 or 6 times a yr and always played well.as mentioned high 70`s low 8o`s.mow it seems i cant even get close to 90.

oh well hopefully i wont play there again this yr.frustrates the hell out of me.i used to go there for a confidence boost know it kicks my a**.

It is more than possible, in fact it is likely. My home course is short par 70. 69 rating and I shot a 99 the other day. I'll go to a local resort course with a 73 rating and shoot 81. Makes no sense. Sometimes the challenge just isn't there and concentration waivers.
