My Daddy makes more than your Daddy

is an argument the young Miss Woods is likely not to lose.

SI.com - The Fortunate 50

Daddy Tiger was named the highest earning athlete in 2007 with earnings of $127,902,706. Phil Mickleson, who finished second overall is a relative pauper compared to Tiger with meager earnings of $62,372,685. LeBron James was third with just over 40 million.

To put this into some form of perspective. Tiger Woods earned $350,418.37 per day in 2007, before taxes of course

It is amazing the amount of endorsement money pro golfer make. Seems to be a lot more than other sports' stars.

Simple really. A lot more rich fat guys play golf than basketball.

Also not a single hockey player on that list. Hard to believe Jim Furyk earns more than Sydney Crosby.

King Par is an unknown quantity at this point
Ovechkin makes more than Crosby. Crosby makes around 5.5 million, Ovie makes 9.5.

It's almost all endorsements for golfers though. I remember seeing a report, showing the amounts from winnings and endorsements. Endorsements heavily outweighed the winnings.

It says on that in order to be on the list, they need to be an American citizen. And when you think about it there aren't that many american hickey players being heavily promoted like a Crosby or an Ovechkin.

Honestly, I thought the same thing when I saw it, but the Amercan citizen thing really limits the possibilities for there to be hockey players.

Isn't it amazing how much athletes get paid compared to teachers, soldiers in the military, firefighters and police officers. I mean they all make quite a bit per year, but these are the guys that make it possible for golfers, basketball players, and other athletes to be able to play those sports. Its just saddening to know that soldiers risk their lives each and every day for less money than a dumb basketball player that plays for five minutes a game.

That's because according to Tiger "nobody watches hockey"

Tiger Woods, ambassador of sports (except for hockey) - Puck Daddy - NHL - Yahoo! Sports

I'm officially anti Tiger now. Did anyone see that shot that Malone took off the nose (was already broken earlier in the series by the way, and once before that LOL)

Anyhow Malone came back out with nostrils stuffed with swab and played 3 more periods! Tiger would probably be dead right now.

I bet 75% of his earning comes from Nike.

This rant is so economically and intuitively wrong on many levels. What you should look at is the reason behind why they get paid the amount of money they get paid.

In 2007, Nike had revenue of $16 billion dollars, all money that people willingly forked over to the company. Nike pays their athletes so much money in sponsorships because people choose to buy the products that these stars endorse.

"Dumb" athletes like Tiger Woods, Lebron James, etc. have specialized in an area that they do well and not many others can do. That is why they get paid what they do. Doctor's get paid a lot because a lot of people need help and it is difficult to become a doctor and there are a less skilled people to fill that kind of a job. The simple truth is that people who choose to become firefighters, soldiers, etc,. do so from their free will. There are so many people that can perform those jobs that their salary is lower.

Okay, so YOU yourself don't choose to watch these sports, but there are millions who do and enjoy it. They buy the products, and funnel money into these corporations. Would you feel okay paying 50% in income taxes so that these government paid people (firefighters, etc) can get better pay? Everything is controlled by market prices, which is why America works the way it does, and we are the richest nation in the world. We already know what happens when someone tries to give everybody equal pay, and stray away from capitalism.

I enjoy taking my grandson to the Monster truck shows in the area but I wouldn't go so far as to call it a "sport". Supercross, sure thing as those guys are awesome with what they can do & extremely athletic.

He also covered his face with his glove and dove in front of Lidstrom in an attempt to block a shot late in the third. The size of a mans heart cannot be measured they say, his balls however can be, and I am guessing Malone has very big balls LOL.

Ditto on the Tiger comment as well. That was a very dickheaded move buy a guy who should know better.
