Rule question

I got a 64* wedge that had 14* of bounce and i hated it, so i got bored and took a grinder and cut alot of the bounce out of the club, my question is now that i did it is the club legal to use in tournament play or cause i altered it is it now an illegal club. I think it is legal as long as i did the mods before a round and not during it.

Grind away man, it's still legal. A lot of pros have grinds on their wedges.

Just don't grind on your shaft. Ummm... leave that to the wife or girlfriend, or both.

yeah, so long as you left the face like it was you're in the clear, just did the same actually, bent my 60 to a 62 or so and ground it down to no bounce at all

I have played in several Sectional PGA events and have different grinds on both of my wedges. No problem as Jeff said, as long as the face is still in it's original state excluding any normal wear and tear.
