Just thought I would post this for anyone who is interested.

After doing a bit of research I found the following information and thought I should share it on here.

It was requested at the time that any donations be made to the Exceptional Foundation, 1616 Oxmoor Rd, Homewood, AL 35209 (205) 870-0776.

https://www.exceptionalfoundation.org/

This may give a little better explanation.

I remember that post, actually I remember it quite well. It brought a tear to my eye then and did again just now. At the time my daughter was not quite 6mo old but already had me wrapped around her finger. She was perfectly healthy when born and still is to this day (thank goodness). That thread and at the time the recent birth of my daughter brought home to me just how lucky I am. It was a very thought provoking and inward reaching post, at least for me and one which I have never forgotten.

Thank you for finding that post and referencing it.

I have nothing to add that hasn't already been said, never met your father other then thru this website & he seemed to be a loving father. Sorry for your loss.

I logged out twice and back in twice before responding to this. I thought for a moment that this might be a hoax.

Man. I am floored.

John, to those of you that didn't have the chance to know him on a more personal note, was one of the best guys I have ever met via these golf forums. Through all the troubles and trials he had in his life, he always wanted the best for everyone around him, his family, and even us goofs on the net. I have spoken with John on several occasions on the phone, and was a couple of bad timings away from lining up a golf trip with him down in AL.

I'm really lost here. You always wonder when or if this is gonna happen, where you meet someone here and all of a sudden they are gone. Speculation gets your mind into trouble, and something in me believed this to an ugly degree when I first read it.

John, even if I disagree with your choice of leaving this earth, I still respect you for the man you were. I hope any questions or insight we chatted about at length helped in easing some of the burden, even temporarily.

Catherine, please know that your father was a great man, but I doubt I need to reiterate this any more than you already know.

I'll never look at the picture of the blindfolded Chevy Chase the same again.

Gents, a peice of the puzzle just fell off the table with this news. Unreal...I sit here looking at my newborn son sleeping beside me, and wonder how simple life really is.

Well stated, Rock. I, like you, have looked at this one in disbelief several times.

I am so sad for your loss, Catherine. Your father was a great guy, fellow golf nut, and funny as heck. The world is less with his loss. RIP, Bravo.

I'm closing this thread in favour of having more posts in the 'Obit for Bravo' thread that Mark started.

I wish all of you could have known John, he's the type of guy that stays with you once you met him.

Thanks everyone,

R35
