I'm gonna go with something not a lot of people have put on here... putting. Districts this past october was just insane. Week before my birthday and I felt pretty good. Hole # 14 at Miami Springs country club is a Short Par 4 with water in your driver landing area. Layed with 4 Iron short of the water and put a 9 Iron to about 35 feet. The green is bowl shaped and im surprised I stayed on it. I have a 35-40 foot Right to left Uphill putt to keep me in the lead. Put a stroke on the ball and watched it go....roll.roll... break... in the hole. Kept me near the top of the leader board and helped me finish second.

Why is was a Tiger shot? I pulled the club up, fist pumped, and waggled at the hole

About 11 years ago on the high school golf team. Sadly, I was the #1 at the time on the team, and my average was around a 45 for 9 holes. My buddy and I played nearly every round together since we were #1 and #2. We had a practice round, and #1 and #2 were paired with #11 and #12 to 'teach' them. Whatever. Anyway, the first hole was about 365 yards with no bend. There is a road (OB) on the left and a pond to the right with 2 streams to carry... the first about 40 yards from the tee, the next about 240 yards from the tee.

It was a really windy day and it was blowing into us and from the left. My tee shot (I only played a 3 wood since I couldn't control a driver) was knocked down by the wind at about 170 yards and left me nearly 200 to the green. The pin was in the back-right portion of the green. I played a pretty good fade/slice for the most part, so when I got to my ball, I figured I'd have no shot and I'd end up either in the road or near the pond on the right. I lined up a 5-wood from 195 and aimed it well over the road. With the wind, it was going to bring it back, even without my fade/slice. I smacked it and it felt perfect. The left-to-right flight of this ball was actually bordering on hilarious and was nothing short of a boomerang shot. It was probably 60 yards or 'fade' but the ball hit the green and stuck... 3 inches from the hole. It was the best shot I had hit in my young career.

4 years ago, I was playing in a tournament on a course in South Jersey. The hole wasn't long, probably about 370 yards or so... and by this point, I had figured out how to hit a driver (somewhat). My tee shot, despite my previous claims of control, found a fairway bunker about 235 yards up on the right. I had a shot of about 135 yards, uphill out of a bunker. I took my 8-iron and figured I'd be happy to be on or over the green. It was pure... I had picked the ball off the sand and it flew straight and true right at the flag. It landed on the green, just to the left... stopped and sucked back about 3 feet. Just like the 5-wood years earlier, it ended up inches from the pin. That shot, in my opinion, trumped the 5-wood because it wasn't one of those 'ooops' type of shots that I didn't intend to play, rather, it was exactly what I envisioned when I lined up to the ball.

These shots are what keep me coming back after the hundreds upon hundreds of horrible, offline, borderline whiffs I make on a continuous basis.

Good thread.

Just a super high flop shot. This green was well protected by trees, and I went right as my usual miss does. I was behind some trees that were super high, I'm not even going to estimate how tall they were. The green started immediately after the trees, so I opened the 60* right up, full swing, it cleared the top of the trees by about 5-10 feet and landed on the green beside the pin.

Since I've just started playing again, I really don't have any "Tiger" shots, but I definitely have a good "anti-Tiger" shot.

It was my first 18 since being back, and I believe it was on the first hole. Well, the only time all day that I was actually hitting shots pure was when I hit them into a tree. I believe I had pitched past the green and ended up behind a tree, if I hit it the way I normally would have, I would've been fine. However, go figure, I actually hit the ball right, it gets up in the air and I hear a clunk so I duck, and the ball hits me right in the top of the head. We almost ditched the rest of the holes because of this, and now I'm scarred for life. Everytime I hear a ball hit a tree I run for it.

lol

I was having a friendly match with a buddy. We were all square going into the 18th, and he had just put his approach to 5 feet. Easy birdie. I knew I would have to hit a good shot as well to take it to extra holes.

Anyway, I had about 40 yards left. Hit low skipper SW. 2 bounces on the green, and it trickled in. That made 4 eagles on that nine for me. I've had two made from the fairway, one on a par 5, and one from a green I hit off the tee.

I had a similar experience last time I played. I actually put one behind me. Long dogleg right par 5. Normally I tee off with my 3W fading just around the bend, then 3W again to leave myself with a ~100y approach. This time the fade was just a hair too strong - it actually would've been beautiful if it hadn't just caught the end of a branch from the inside trees and dropped straight down like a rock. That left me with a second shot with an oak tree about 20y in front of me. Not too bad I thought. The fairway on the second leg is very wide, so I could aim just left of the tree and with a gentle fade still be in good shape. I'd just end up with a little longer of an approach shot, no biggie. I even used my 3H instead of 3W just in case it went straight so I'd stay in the left side of the fairway. Once again my fade was a bit more pronounced than I intended and it popped the piss out of the oak tree. Bounced straight back toward me, landed about 10 feet to my left and 5 feet behind me. Hey, at least I took that tree out of play and was hitting from the fairway this time. I actually managed to 1-putt for par, which is only the 2nd time I've ever gotten par on that one. Normally I 3-putt for bogey (like most every other hole I play.)

20 MPH sustained winds. Missed approach far left. 20 yards to green, possibly more. Almost pin high, but as said, far left. Bunker between myself and the green. Left foot approx. 8" below ball, right foot approx. 2" above it. 6"+ grass.

Hole out for birdie.

I missed ten fairways with my driver last round. Those were my Tiger shots.

One of my next favorites?

Miss right on a par 3, this one....Paa-Ko

Pin is 3 paces in from the right, naturally. I'm sitting on a downslope that is barely out of view. It was a miracle, all luck, but I holed out for Birdie. Luckily too, given that downslope, there was almost no way it was going to be within 10 feet if it rolled past.

Not me, but my brother, who has a knack for the impossible shot.

He's hit his tee shot into the woods - deep into the woods, and after 4 minutes 59 seconds of searching, he finds it. He has no shot, I mean nothing, not even an escape backwards or sideways into the fairway (which he can't see anyway.)

So he 150 yards from the green and absolutely encased in trees...except for a hole the size of a Volkswagon Bug about 50 yards away and 50 feet up in the foliage. He looks at it, takes dead aim, and puts the ball right through the hole. We dig our way out of the woods to see the ball just over the green. A chip and putt later, he cards an amazing par.

That was cool...

That is pretty sweet. Reminds me of one I'd forgotten.

I lose my drive right on a par 5, its a shorter one measuring about 500, so I can reach in 2. However, I'm right of the path, right of some trees, and next to the lake. I can punch out, on in 3, regular par. No sweat.

But as MC and my mom love to point out, I'm not terribly smart. There's a hole about 5 feet wide and 10 feet high in front of me, if a little right of the green (hole was a dogleg right just before the green). So if I went straight through it, I'd miss right. BUT....if I could draw it through that hole I could be on in 2.

Well, as I said, I'm not very smart, but thank goodness I got lucky. Started it out decently right with a low 6, brought it through the gap, and ended up on the back middle of the green. Sweetest 2 putt birdie I've ever had.
