About 335 from the tips. Dog leg left at around 300 almost directly to a well bunkered green, guarded by trees to left and right. Dog leg wraps around water, anything over 280 faces rough. Three tier green.

A toughy, and the shortest 4.

Long and low because I'm already playing short and low. I like Driver then then 5 wood combos because current course only has 2.

I'd have more fun on the long and lower course. Chances are I could hit driver on every hole and the heck with where it ends up. Short and high slope usually means errors are strokes and another ProV down the toilet. If I wanted to hit 218yd. 3i's with a 3yd. draw all day, I'd go to the range.

Jeff---Paako (in your neighborhood) will do just fine. Black Mesa also.
I've got to go out there to play these again. That was golf heaven.

Highlands Links in Ingonish, 6592 yards with a 142 slope. Anyone who is a true golfer and ever visiting Nova Soctia should have to play this course. Stanley Thompsons best or second best design.

Short and more difficult. One of the main reasons we joined the one were at over the others that are longer but easier. It just has more character and you never seem to grow tired of the course. Actually our old course played short and relatively easy and it just became boring after about a year of continuous play.

I just usually have no fear and a lot less thought process when I play others and they just seem wide open. To me it is just not as much of a challenge. I can hit a driver on most other courses, and if I hit it over a tree line it is sitting nicely in the other fairway. I do that here and it is unlikely I will ever see the ball again. You play here in wind and any other less than ideal conditions and you have to change your strategy a lot more.

Ours plays 5638 from the whites with a 135 slope, and 5968 from the blues with a 142 slope. While it is short, IMO it makes you a better all around golfer. It seems like anytime I play anywhere else I usually score well under my handicap. Playing here actually forced me to change my entire strategy on golf. It has also forced me to pay extreme attention to how I am hitting every club in my bag on any given day where usually the wisest club to hit is almost always the most consistent, even if it means playing a 6i off the tee on a narrow par 5.

Sounds like a pretty darn challenging course!

Played a "short and stiff" course last night with ejdahl21. Brighton Dale near Kansasville. 73.3/132 rating and was probably tougher then normal due to the added mosquito hazzards.... Got Eric by one stroke, 89 to 90. We played good all things (mosquitos) considered...

Ditto. You put a 4-iron in my hand for every approach shot and I will hit 4 greens.

Weren't you going to tell me when you were in town?

Back when I was below 18, Paako was 12 dollars for me to play, so I'd walk it 4-5 times a week. Hones the game. For those who don't know it...137 Slope, 7528 Yardage.

Black Mesa is beautiful as well. We had a deal when you got an oil change you'd get a discount certificate for there, so I got all my vehicles changed and played there about 6 times in 2 months.
