Just Couldn't Do It

I tried to leave the game. It Just isn't gonna happen. I didn't think I'd miss it too much seeing as how I had no reason playing it post high-school...but I was wrong. I doubt anyone here even noticed my absence...but I have some good friends here and am glad to be back in it.

I need it. I think I've finally wrapped my thick skull around the fact that I no longer have a serious need to play...but that I don't need one to play other than the fact that I enjoy it, and it helps soothe me and clear my head.

I don't plan on being serious about it anymore...I want to try and play either once a week, or once every two weeks...just for the sake of being out there and enjoying it...I doubt I do a whole lot of equipment junky'ing like I did at one time...just can't afford to really. the clubs I've got now may be a little too 'player-esque' for me at first, but I think I can handle them once I get back into the flow of things.

Its been about 2 months since I've hit a ball...I think I'll make a range trip or two before I get back on the course.

So...what'd I miss? how many drivers have Ez and WBL gone through? how many 'my bag is set' threads has Rock made and then broken later that week?

Home sweet home,

-YG

I noticed you were gone Gun.

I actually went through the same thing, but my absence lasted nearly two years. Funny enough, in a way, it was one of the best things I ever did.

Welcome back man. Didn't miss much from me. I just put together a few big dollar drivers and sold them to people who could actually hit them. They got thier a$$es kicked by an R7 QuadTP I got off the used rack for $74. That's bagged for a while now, at least the rest of this year.

You going to school in the fall or what?

I'm trying to do the samething right now. Its funny I have more fun hitting a whiffle ball around the yard than I have on the course with a real ball. I guess it is because I can shape the whiffle ball and pretty much hit it wherever I want. I've only played 27 holes this year, I've just been so busy no time for golfing.
You came back just in time to see Zaphod ho 4 TM drivers.

My golf has been slowing down a lot recently. I'm glad you decided to keep on playing though. Welcome back.

i'm always going to school.....

I've been done with high school for a full year and have been going to community college. We have one of the biggest and best in the nation right here in town. I was able to get a bunch of credits done with during high school through the college partnership program...those, combined with what i've earned in two summer sessions and two full semesters has got me about maxed out on credits that I can have Transfer to a bigger institution...which bigger institution i'm going to is still up in the air.

school combined with work and the female companion has occupied the bulk of my time lately. A few of you may remember I was working at Dick's Sporting Goods before I stopped golfing..I realized I could be doing so much better, and started hunting around and was able to land a job in my field of study (Accounting) at the John Deere Agricultural Marketing Center here in Lenexa, KS. John Deere has a great program of hiring full-time students to part time positions. I was lucky enough to land a job in the Accounting department there and have just finished my first month there...the work I do there is nothing flashy (to be expected of a part-time working college kid I guess), but having "Part-Time Accounting with John Deere" on your resume at 19 years old ain't too shabby. I am in charge of processing Manufacturer's Certificate of Origins for machinery (basically a deed or title). probably 70% of the requests I receive are for little utility vehicles like Gators but I'll see ones for $50,000 tractors and combines once in awhile.

just a little bit of whats been goin on in my life.

I missed you kicking my ass on the golf course.

I do have a driver now that I hit straight, that's a step in the right direction. Strengthened my grip a bit too. Between the two I either hit it dead straight or just a tiny bit of fade. Also finally put those Dynalite Gold shafts I got from you last year to good use too. Hmmmm... my bag is pretty much all changed since we last played together.

Welcome back Gun, you've been missed and missed a lot. It would take longer than you've been gone to fill you in on all the bag changes that have occurred. But then again, you know how we are, so that shouldn't come as a surprise.
