shanks big time help needed

hey guys iv been playin REALLY bad for the last month or two and i cant seem to get out of this rut ,
and to top it all iv developed the shanks and im questioning weather or not to giv up the game,
im a 15 handicap golfer but 2 months ago and before was regularly playing below that and into single figures now im strugling to break 90 which is a joke to be honest
i played the worst round of golf in my life the other day with 10 shanks in 9 holes, i was having wedge into green and missing by soooo far because of a shank! and then doing it again and again
dont get me wrong i havent been very well latly recovering from radio active treatment but its no excuse that my golf should go this bad i did expect it go be slightly worse because of my lack of energy,
lol basicaly i need sum1 to tell me to get a grip lmao

shanks issues are difficult to diagnosis without further info. A video would be most helpful. Or perhaps an impression of how your swing feels. Are you truly shanking the ball or blading with an open or closed club head. (That was my issue). Most frustrating shot in golf so we feel your pain bro.

I just read this maybe you should give it a try. If your hitting it off the hosel on your short irons it could be because your weight is too forward out on your toes causing your hands and arms to be further away from you on your down swing then they were at address. Try to get the feeling like you have more weight on your heels during your down swing.

Also it could be from not hitting the ball from the inside on your downswing. The drill they described was to place 3 balls in a line perpendicular to your target line or just in a row going away form you.
When you get them lined up remove the middle ball so you have a gap between the two balls. Address the outer ball furthest away from you take your swing and hit the ball closest to you, this will make you hit the ball from the inside.

I got the shanks a few months ago as well and i know what you are going through. I really dont know what the best thing for you is cause i am not a teacher but i will tell you what helped me and you can try it if you want. Mine was all in my grip. Try not to have such a tight grip and loosen up a little. Also if you hit a shank i wouldnt hit a mulligan cause 90% of the time your going to hit another one and get frustrated, just walk up to wherever you hit your ball and forget about the last shank. But good luck to ya.

yea my striking was comin totally off the neck of the club i went to the range yesterday and you could see it very clearly it was a joke lmao
saying that i went and played our 9 hole par 3 and 4 course and ended up only 4 over mainly due to puttin which was good in a way , i still hit a couple of shanks but im hoping they are gettin better now
im having a lesson within the next week also which should help i just need to start hittin down the line rather than bringin the club on the inside on my back swing i think :~
