    Ebayers asking dumb ass questions.

How many times have you guys have had questions asked about information that is clearly listed. Its like cant you read dumb ass. Shipping out of country seems to be a big one, I clearly posted U.S only. Another one was the authenticity of the club, I clearly show the serial number and say it in my description.

I had a number of folks in foreign countries buy items from me even though in my ads I too had listed USA only. I would then contact them & tell them I would send it overseas but they would have to eat all the costs associated. Not once did any of them back out. I have sent stuff to Italy, Germany, Norway, England, Japan, & Australia. Shipping costs to Australia are nuts, I sent a pair of gloves to Japan & it cost less than $5. Sent a helmet to Aussieville & it was over $40.

I had one guy ask about shipping to HI when I clearly stated Con US only, turns out its not all that bad to ship to HI. I shipped to Australia as well and it was almost $40 to ship 8 shafts.
Blew up the bag, not sure what's going in next...
    Any suggestions?

  4. I had a guy from UK buy the Scratch wedge I had. He asked and we worked it out that if he won I'd charge him $20 and refund the overage. After winning we figured it would be cheaper for me to just pull the head and send just that. It was like $9 I think in a padded envelope. The thing that really amazed me is that USPS only took 3 days to get it there. Still can't figure that one out.

  5. well - i ALWAYS ask the seller to confirm authenticity, if i'm in any doubt. That way, if they fail to respond to confirm it - i stay well away. Even though the ad says it is (serials can be faked) - i'd rather have the email evidence to back me up in case of dispute.

Also, regarding shipping - often people just don't think to offer worldwide - so if there's something listed in the US that I really want, i'd certainly ask if they'd ship to the UK.

Seriously, surely, ANY enquiries are better than none?? Some people like to actually dialogue with the seller, just to put their mind at rest before sending hundreds of pounds into the 'ether'

Yep, sent a hat to Oslo Norway & it took 3 days, yet a similar hat I shipped to the east coast took 5 days, both were shipped via USPS the same day.

Tell me about it. Ironically it's still cheaper to buy MOST things from the US and suffer the $40 postage than what we get here in Aus. You guys in the US and Canada don't realise how great you have it with your golf equipment.

Hey, that was me... Shafts are great too, by the way.

Bottom line is I will always ask sellers to consider postage to Australia UNLESS they have specifically written in the description that they are US and/or Canada only, as it's still cheaper. As Dannykos said, most of them simply forget to put WORLDWIDE in the selling options.

Im agreeing with the international guys here, even with the $40 upcharge on shipping, it is still way cheaper to buy from the US than anywhere else.

I have never sold anything golf related on ebay but i did sell a pair of shoes that i ordered in the wrong size and never returned...

I stated several times that they were a size 11...got two questions about what size the shoes were so i put the size in BIG RED LETTERS in the description and STILL got a question a day or so later about the size...READ THE DESCRIPTION, read it again, and if you still cant find the answer then ask.

I play golf... My wife crochets. I buy golf clubs. She sells her crochet. Doillies, coasters, amazing (in my opinion) what people will pay good money for! She sells most of her crochet on ebay and has struck up dialogues with many satisfied customers.

My wife has a knack for photography. Her photos on ebay of her handiwork do an excellent job showing color and design. Yet, she is always glad to get the "is that really green?" type questions. Feels if there is a connection the customer knows she has done the work with her own hands and is interested in their getting what they want. In 4 or 5 years of selling on ebay, she has yet to have a dissatisfied customer! Most of that is attributable to feeling there is no "dumb" question!

Communication at the onset of a relationship can go a long ways in making sure that relationship does not fall apart because someone failed to ask a "dumb" question.
