Are you a sweeper or a digger?

Just curious.

to keep things consistent, we'll put the hypothetical situation as in the middle of the fairway...at a full 7 iron distance...whatever that may be for you.....do you pick the ball clean? or take a divot?

I've alternated between the two...most of the time however, i'd say I pick the ball clean....however as I'm slowly working back into the game, I think I want to commit more to the hard ballstriking type of shot where you smash the back of the ball into the ground nearly and take more of a divot.

Lastly, do you feel that one is better than the other?

Thanks.

Scrape swing and to my knowledge the proper way to take a divot. I know where the bottom of my swing is and at worst I will take a thin layer of soil up. Sand Wedge is different.

I always take a divot, not a huge one, but enough. The shorter the clubs the bigger the divot obviously.

Did he catch that heavy? Looks like the club enters the ground before strikeing the ball on the close up.

I sweep with a 7 dig with 8 up.

I've always been a sweeper, but I'm getting to where I can take a small divot now. I usually play muni's and the ground is so hard it's hard to take much of one.
