My driver distance is --Drum roll please

260-265 yards.

I got my Bushnell Pinseeker 1500 working again with some gentle cleaning. So played 9 holes today on a pretty windless day. 0.7" of rain earlier today but course drains well so the fairways were very reasonable.

Shot reference points on each driver hole (7) so I could get accurate readings. R7 425 9.5* TP with Aldila vs by you regular shaft at 45.5". Drove well today with nice trajectory and roll. Straight or very slight fade. 6 drives were between 260-265 yards and one at 253 yards (heel hit). Consistant but not overly long.

Overall I'm happy with distance as I'm 55 years old with the flexibilty of an oak 2x4.

Ezra and Jeff and other big hitters. Build that strip mall between my drive and yours. Works for me . I will continue to watch in awe.

Overall I shot a 33 (3 under today). 7 pars, 1 bird, AND 1 eagle chip in. 24 paces from cup --6 from green edge. Curled it in.

Used a broomstick putter today just because I hadn't used it in a while. Direction has always been good with this flatstick but distance control an issue. Today the stars aligned and all was good. For putts 5 feet or less I use it sidesaddle facing the hole. I just do not miss in this mode.

Anyway 300 yards is possible for me ---ON AN ASPHALT RUNWAY. Guess Cory Pavin should be my hero.

BTW--Golf Digest headline OCHOA 290 yards 127 lbs 5'6". Kim--The Big Break 5"7" and certainly less than 140 lbs 300+ yards. I am humbled

Zapdod,

260 is nothing to shake your fists at. 90% of the holes that you and I will play put that second shot (at least the second shot) in very good shape. I'm glad you turned that driving distance into a very, very good round.

Fitz,

Thank you

Very true but I am force to disguard that dream!!! Reality sets in that I must yield to the testosterone laden game and seek touch. Also know this 9 holes like the back of my hand. Have played it at least 20 times this year. Pass the same gopher hole each time.

Check out my Legends review---Fitz you have been holding out on us. What a nice course.

Did ya notice the R7. After I hit your driver it became a priority.

Does anybody know what flex's Kim or Lorena use? Im guessing still a Regular flex.

Those are still great drives Zaphod at that distance.

Lorena uses a 7.5* head and an S flex shaft tipped 1 inch as per golf digest a while back.

Looking at the Bigbreak page it doesnt have flex listed for the player except Sophi (SP) who uses S flex but would probably gain a few yards with an R or a firm flex. I would assume Kim uses S at her swing speed.

I noticed Kim was using the FT-5 with what looked like the YS-6. Most of her drives were 250-260, while Sophie's were 220ish. The only ones Kim hit over 300 were downhill.

I subtracted Kim's yardage in from the hole distance and it appeared she was around 300 on quite a few holes ...

And great golf zaphod!!!

This is one reason why I think people think they hit it further than they really do. On even slight doglegs if you just subtract distance from the length of hole, it doesn't take into effect the actual distance that the ball travelled, just how much of it was cut off.

jerome
Obviously. But I didn't try it on the holes she was left or right or the dogleg holes....

Straight hole (no dogleg), straight drive (in fairway) and distance to hole off of GPS (they were using) should equal driving distance. And no, it's impossible to know the wind direction or if it was downhill.... Rough guessing only is what I was doing....

For the Bushnell sparingly lens solution with microfiber cloth provided.

I guess looking at the consistency of the numbers and the Regular flex shaft I do not see any more distance potential without

1) Lengthening the shaft

2)Working out

3)flexibility exercises

All three options unless I become obsessive will yield limited benefits. So its going to have to be improvement of iron and wedge precision and PUTTING.

7.5* for Lorena. Wow Distance and controlling the spin. I can only do that in my dreams.

260 is darn good. I don't get much more than that, if any.

As to Lorena, 290 is total BS. My question is if she hits it 290 how come she only hits a 7i as far as my PW? I'd bet a months pay I'd outdrive her by 15yds., my 3w vs. her driver. I saw her using a 5W from 180 last month, sorry but I can hit a 7i that far and I can't hit a driver any 290.

Her driving average for the year is 269.4. Her accuracy however is where she kills you 3 ways to Sunday. Its a comfy 73%

Irons are a different animal. Chicks dont hit down on their irons like men, hence the shorter yardages.
