Thread: Do not try this at home

Do not try this at home

2 irons that is . I just took delivery of one and hit about 60 balls on the range with it. I was absolutely striping the ball with it, both off the deck and the tee and it would not get up for me. Now I'm a low ball hitter (unbelievably low) but this was ridiculous, off the deck it would not go higher than 10 feet off the ground and I'm not even exaggerating a little bit. I'll still keep it for gale force days as it is perfect off the tee for that

Any tips to get it higher though?

Just dont treat it differently, play it the same way you would your 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 and so forth.

I love my 2i, havent found a single hybrid or 5w that works better. Even when I was a low ball hitter.

Yeah, I was putting great swings on it, really ripping it just had one of those days where every shot I hit was super low. Prolly need a lesson or two to get the traj a little higher on everything. I have to admit though, it was sick to pure the ball and see it like a fighter jet off an aircraft carrier taking off, drilled into oblivion and rolling about 80 yards

Try hitting the ball with the thought of taking a bigger divot after the ball, like keep digging down through it.

Just an idea for when Im hitting the ball a little on the low side.

  5. I guess I'm weird (actually, I know I am). My 2iron is my best club. I can't hit a fairway wood to save my life, hence I don't carry one. I also carry a 1 iron and hit it pretty good, too but not as good as my 2 iron.

Im with ya, I absolutely love my 2i (although I can hit fw woods, just not a 5w as good as the 2i so it stays in the bag). 2i is easily my go to club and my favorite club in the bag.

    Go 2 iron!!!

  8. I need to really hit my 3 and 4 iron more. I've never hit a 2 iron to be honest. I hit my fairway woods decent, but I LOVE hitting my driver off the deck. It just seems like I always hit this big high fade. It's just always the same ballflight

Nah, it was just a free post. I had intended to come and post how to hit a 2 iron, in my book, but Piper had beat me to it.

Rather than make is a wasted trip, I decided to just back him up. This helps Piper mind, because he has a tendancy to be an incompetant boob.

Oh, now I understand. So by backing him up, you not only give him a much-needed ego boost while increasing your own post count. Dastardly and ingenious plan I must admit
