Help with two questions for my club quiz

Could you please help me with two questions for my local clubs quiz

1.What is the term, named after a person, given to a split level green?

    2. What is the formula, as quoted by John Jacobs, for hitting the ball long and straight?

    Thanks for helping

Isn't Jacobs the crusty old geezer who used to have a golf teaching program on BBC in or around the same time as Peter Alliss was doin pro-celebrity golf. If it is the same fella he was way overboard on the technicialities ... tho then again I was in me pram then and nothing really made sense... yeah yeah .. I had a pram til I was 25
Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

You were helped. Did you email the USGA as suggested? As a professional golf organisation, they are more likely to be able to answer you than a collection of random golfers on an internet messageboard.

Plus, you probably tend to find that messageboard users are more inclined to assist regular users rather than fly-by-nighters.

So, what did the USGA say?

    Ha!

Well, come on. Guy only makes 3 posts on the whole forum, 2 of them asking for information and the third slagging us of for not helping when, in fact, he was pointed in the right direction...deserves what he gets.

I am not a tissue to be used, soiled and discarded, Mr Ireland!
