I like that Texas Scramble one, still involves a bit of teamwork off the tee but then it's everyone for themselves. Makes for abit of fun when you can rib others or even yourself over poor shots.

I enjoy the scramble format, but am also interested in seeing how I play/score relative to others.

THAT'S why I suggest a two man team best ball which is not like a scramble. You play your own shots on each hole and take the lowest score for your team. You'll STILL know what you shot as an individual.

How's about we modify the rules a bit & avoid having a team with a "ringer" win it? Still play best ball but you have to use the scores from both players for 9 holes each. So it's actually like 50% best ball

Using the above "rules", no problem, take your pick.

Ringers? That sounds like a "plan" WG...

How would this work, do you have to select which score you're using after each hole, or at the end of the day?

Play it somewhere south of Lake Winnebago, and I'll probably drive up. Neenah is about my limit for a one-day round trip.

Was thinking about Sept 27th for outing. Being a Saturday, that would give us Sunday as a rain date. Let's start a head count of who can make it Saturday Sept 27th. Also working out more details and will post them soon.

I will tentatively say that I am in. "Tentatively," because it is extremely difficult for me to get off work on Saturdays. But, if I can swing it and I have the money, I am in.

I'm just tossing crap up & seeing what sticks. I would say end of the day, or here's a thought, alternate hole scoring. So player 1 has all the odd holes & player 2 the even holes but you would still use the Texas scramble deal of using the best tee shot as your 1st shot.

Eric, sept 27th would work fine for myself. My schedule is extremely easy to manipulate.

IMO, strategy is more fun than alternations. I like the idea, but would go with 'after each hole' ( making a little more Wolf-like, too ).
