Very displeased

received my new hybrids this morning. you know that plastic film they put on new clubs, well needless to say it s##ks. took the paint off part of the heads trying to get this crap off. it's just like it melted into the heads or something. I take pride in my equipment and try not to scuff the tops of clubs. damm it makes me mad!!!

Brand of clubs?

They may stand behind the product...give them a "calm" call and see what they will do.

Normally it's just shrink-wrap plastic, which should never stick to the paint. Any chance these were a re-pack that somebody applied excess heat to? Maybe a return that the store you bought them from re-wrapped?

not really sure I want to tell you all the brand name. seen it before on other sites when they named the brand and you get this (no wonder, never should of bought that brand, you get what you pay for etc, etc) problem is I had the overnighted so I could use them this Satuday. I did email where I bought them to let them know I wasn't happy. Wish I would of tried sticking them in the freezer, that might of made the glue on the film release better if the head was froze.

So do you want us to tell you that cheap club manufacturers should be held to the same standards as those known for higher quality?

Not me.

It's a bad deal. And no, I don't think ANY manufacturer should sell clubs in the condition you got. But if you bought cheap clubs, then the odds of something pissing you off go way up.

GigaGolf?

if so, this will be unhappy customer number 2 that i know of(If they wont stand behind theyre product that is)

Otherwise, i would still CALL them. Email is so impersonal...calling usually gets much better results with these kinds of issues.

You're not going to hear "you get what you pay for" from me, because what you are describing should not happen no matter how little you pay.

Besides, there are plenty of inexpensive clubs, knock offs, non-name brands, etc that work just fine. I know because I bought a box set from a no-name when I started playing a few years ago. The irons in that set played better than quite a few name brand clubs I demo'd.

I totally understand what your saying eracer, but to me 100 bucks per club (and that's on sale) to me is hard earned money. but yes they're not name brands like Ping, Tayler Made Callaway etc, etc. Anyway what I bought was the Olimar Fury II QB 19 & 22 degree hybrids. The reason for this is I bought the same club only it was the driver and I smack the crap out of it. Ball goes straight and long for me. It's the best driver I've hit in a long time. So I decided to try the hybrids.

thanks, boxcar

No matter what brand you buy or price you pay you expect to recieve the club in a condition such that it has not nicks or dings in the paint until you put them there. This is an easy call to make and one that they will have to fix. Otherwise a mention of a call to the better business bureau will make them think twice about denying your claim.

^^^^ +1

Call the store and Orlimar. Tell them that the plastic was melted to the club, and that removing the plastic peeled the paint off. Tell them you want replacements and for them to pay shipping both ways.

You did not get what you paid for. Don't give up.

Did you save the plastic with the paint on it?

Well, you certainly didin't buy "cheap" clubs. Orlimar is a good brand, and they should take care of you. I thought maybe you had bought them from wwww.really_crappy_chinese_knockoffs_made_from_alu minum_foil_and_buffalo_dung.com
