Who uses spikes on the Driving Range? - Shot Talk

Ive been working on my swing and using more lower body action and now my feet are flying all over the place on the range mats. So who uses spikes at the Range?

I guess if i had golf shoes i would wear them...but i have never had golf shoes, so i just wear my street shoes...

All of our driving ranges are grass, so no mats.

I wear my golf shoes, so I can maintain my grip.

When I go to the PGA store... Barefoot...

Now, before you people laugh because I AM from the South, and the barefoot jokes... I wear flip flops religiously.. So I go barefoot in the simulators.

I don't have golf shoes, so its tennis shoes for me.... but since I hit off "grass" (hate the mats, will only use them if there is no space on the "grass") I'l be wearing them when I get them.

How can you guys wear flip-flops??? I can not stand to have that thing between my toes, and that smack, smack, smack, smack....all day freaking long.....feck makes me wanna blow my brains out...

If it doesnt strap/tie on to my foot, theyre pretty much worthless to me.

hah. i cant stand flip flops that go between the toes. i cant wear them period.

but as the golf shoes at the range off the mats is gay. that is all

I wear leather flipflops, and they don't make any noise or smack my feet.

Or maybe I walk like a duck, and have mastered being silent in them.

And you know, without anyone hating me... The only "mats" I've ever hit off, were indoors at golf stores..

I've never been to a range that had mats.. Everything has been off wonderful plush grass..

If I am playing a rd afterwards then I wear my shoes, otherwise it's tennies for me. Can't stand those flip flop things, same reason as the others, the deal that does between your toes. I also don't wear sandels & absolutely hate those crocs.

On the shoe subject, has anyone lost a spike while playing? I lost 2 the other day, both were on the left foot near the front. They are hard enough to take out with the wrench, can't imagine them just falling out. Could it be possible with planting my foot & twisting while swinging it's forcing them out?

Golf Shoes at the range always.

Then again, my lowest round of golf EVER was when I wore my running shoes to the course because I forgot my golf shoes.

Maybe I should experiment.

Golf shoes only, but all the ranges around here are real grass.

On a sim I'll wear my tennis shoes or my Clarks.
