No birdies today, but an eagle landed.

That's right, I couldn't make a birdie putt today. Oh well. On the back nine, I hit a driver on the shortest par 4 on the course. This was a 322 yard straight away par 4 with the front of the green open (not protected from bunkers). The rest of the green was protected. I hit a baby fade, but nutted the drive. I knew it would be close to the green. When I got to the green, the ball ended up about eighteen feet from the pin, on the green pin high.

I was pretty stoked! Now the putt. It looked like a straight putt, the kind you read where you think you see more break than there really is. I just trusted that it was inside the right edge and hit it square. The putt dropped for an Eagle.

Couldn't make a birdie, but the eagle was nice. Ended up shooting a 79.

Congrats!! I could be convinced an eagle should bring more hoopla than an ace. An eagle takes at least two good strokes on a par 4 and 3 solid strokes on most par 5's. An ace only takes one lucky one!!

One double bogey. On a par 5 to boot. Pulled out a three wood for placement because water was within driver distance. Pushed into the water on the right side. What an indiot, huh?

So 1 double, 7 bogeys, 1 eagle, and 9 pars? Not a bad dispersion there,

Congratulations on the eagle! I've been golfing for 10 years now and have yet to get an eagle. I had two pretty easy eagle putts but came up 6 inches short. Quite coincidentally, that's the same reason my porn career never took off!

congrats. the closest I've ever come to an eagle was when I topped my tee shot, it landed by the ladies tees, and after hitting my 3 wood, I had a pw to the green.
