okay, this is just silly

PGATOUR.COM - Will Scotty's latest tool take ball markers to next level?

Cool idea, and I'm sure it's helpful. I'm a Scotty fan. I use one of his putters (albeit a beat-to-hell secondhand one for which I paid $25).

But $44 for a ball marker?

IMO that is a stupid ball marker. But that is just me, I am sure that there will be people willing to pay alot of money for one of them. In fact, I read on golfwrx, that a few of these were hitting ebay already and selling for $200+, Thats just nuts...

Well I use a quarter which, if my calculations are correct, costs approximately $43.75 less than the Scotty ball marker. I will invest the $43.75 in my 401K.

I am surprised that that is legal. I thought drawing a line on the ball was somewhat grey. I think I will take my Kennedy 50-cent piece and a magic marker and make my own. Or is that a violation of the rules?

It also comes with a "certificate of authenticity". Not for the marker, for yourself, as you are now a certified a-hole for spending $44 on a ballmarker.

Eclark, thank you for amending my post. Your version is a lot funnier and unfortunately, a whole lot truer! Hold on...is 'truer' a word?

So true - perhaps a tattoo would be a better idea?

I just ordered one...Sling...change my SN to "certahole"

jk..i can barely justify 50 bucks on a whole club, let alone a ball marker.

Ha, I don't need one! I've been a certified a-hole for years and the certificate is framed and hanging in my family room. Ha! No $44 for you, Scotty.

I saw it already. It weights ten grams more, has a few red dots, and costs $1500.

That's retarded. Now I admit I spend probably more than I should for golf... but sheesh....
