smokin the ball off the tee today....

hitting the ball constant 305-320. Thats not out the norm. Had 4 drives though that i nailed right on the screws. didnt measure thee of them. Guy i played with had that gps skycaddy thing. Well the one i measured was 347 on a straight hole. No deviation up or down from tee box or to green. I ended up shooting a 76. If feels good to be a gansta

and i had a hole where i shanked it off the tee. 2nd shot with 3 wood knocked it 260 ending up 20ft from the pin. Green slightly below me. ended up paring it.

Maybe scale it back a bit and work on consistency if you shank off the tee. Don't worry about distance - you hit it much much farther than probably 98% of golfers.

I don't think I hit it that long but know the feeling. Every once in a while I'm hitting that sweet spot and squaring it up like nobody's business. It's like I can swing as hard as I want and the only difference is the ball goes further. My big swing is too timing based though. I get out of sync and start flipping and those 280yd. carry bombs get negated by the shut down, OTT, flipped pull into the left trees. I can deal with a big block, getting back to straight or cuts is easy from there. If I'm missing left though, it's going to be a long round with a lot of 3W's off the tee.

i usually never shank off the tee. I just let the excitement get the best of me.
