You're right, there is no law against a Tour deciding, more or less on a whim, who may or may not participate. If there were, there'd be a slam-dunk lawsuit filed yesterday by a couple hundred Nationwide Tour ( total purse, ~$20M ) guys against the LPGA ( total purse, ~$90M ), and for that matter, the Senior Tour ( ~$55M total purse ).

Then the LPGA's english test would be limited to knowing the word "Fore" and when to use it. Really, there are no safety concerns.

I dont get why the LPGA made this announcement. They should have just sent a memo out to players giving them a few years to learn English, then readdress the issue at that time.. kept it low key... It all seems kinda drastic.

If the rule passes, would I be allowed to play being a mute woman?

You're a mute woman?

I guess it would be fine as long as you are unable to speak English. Now if you were unable to speak Korean, there might be a problem.

What if you were a mute woman who used sign language but it was Korean sign language?

Imagine that, a hot mute chick who not only loves but kicks a$$ at golf. Dream girl.

because there is a league for those who are not allowed in- men. its called the PGA, and for old men, the senior tour. as long as there is a group for everyone to be in (should they have the ability) then I see nothing wrong.

... it's called the Asian Tour.

http://www.lagt.org/

Take a look at the 07 major winners on that tour. How do you think they'd feel about having to speak Chinese and/or Korean to be able to play?

Very good point!

It's the "diplomatic immunity" argument: The reason we have it is not because we want to protect guilty foreign officials on U.S. soil from prosecution in U.S. Courts. We have it because we want our diplomats on foreign soil to be protected from persecution in foreign courts.

Or, if the LAGT adopts a similar policy, it might be referred to as the "neener-neener-neener" argument.

in this case, yes. how do you think women would feel if they had to compete with tiger? Men in sports are better in some, and worse (namely some parts of gymnastics) then women. Wouldn't it make sense to have people put into categories based on if they are women, men, or old to make it a competition of skill among those with the equal opportunities?
