Thread: Golf Resort Pricing???

  1. Golf Resort Pricing???

Wondering if I can take my annual guys golf holiday this year. The economic crisis is hitting hard. On the other side of things, maybe golf resorts will have to bite the bullet and reduce their '09 pricing to survive in a marketplace with seriously depleted volume. Will Myrtle Beach, Pinehurst, Arizona, Florida and Kiahaw Island reduce prices to retain old customers and attract new visitors? I'm on the fence with this year's trip as I'm sure others are. A big break in the cost could tip me to the "go for it" side.
    Any thoughts?

I'm betting heavily on some last minute deals, especially from the non big name resorts. For better or worse, I'm married to an inveterate vacation planner, so we've been set for months on our 2009 travel through the summer. Not sure what's going to happen after that, though.

  3. Myrtle Beach is highly competitive with so many golf courses crammed into such a small area. There are some MB courses that are pricey, but I played some nice ones for under $50.

Pinehurst, on the other hand, is outrageously priced. I have to play #2 once in my life, being the Donald Ross fan that I am, so I will probably pay the almost $500, but seriously, is any golf course worth that?
