Guy threw a club in the water today, ..

Up here in Ontario it was about 68 degrees, brilliant sunshine, and no wind. I had to get in one more day before the snow flies. I played the first 5 holes by myself then joined a single guy ahead of me. On the 9th, the foursome on 18, loud and stupid, were only fifty yards away from our tee and one of the guys swears, walks back to the cart, puts his driver away, pulls out another club and makes a big screaming deal out of throwing the club about 50 yards right in the middle of the pond. Of course we ignored them, not knowing what they were likely to do., Wassup widdat?

So he hit a bad drive, put the driver away, then sacrificed some other club to the pond? If you're going to be a hothead, keep it fcking real man, I want to see that $400 driver going in the drink, not some ba$tard, mismatch 7i that had nothing to do with it.

Dag gone right. What a pu$$y! Man up and whip that new Rapture V2 out there!

PS, I got my first Callaway drive that way. I saw it floating in a pond. The guy snapped the shaft off at the top of the head first, though.

That's a good point. This just evoked images of a guy going around to garage sales and flea markets haggling people down to 50 cents a club just so he has a set of "sacrificial" clubs, and he always puts one in his bag at the beginning of each round in case he needs to throw something -- just not the club that actually misbehaved.

The last time I really threw a club was the BurnerTP with the VSProto. I almost got it stuck in a tree. Ironically, just like the tee shot, I pulled it way left.

was pretty clear he was being a clown and not really

pi$$ed the way he carefully put his diver in the bag first. At least I didn't have to follow these A'holes around the course. I think that might be it until February when I go to Florida. It has been a great season though.

I wrapped an iron around a ball washer on a par 3 once.

Put 3 balls in the forced water carry, the last hit the hill just at the lip of the green, and rolled ALL THE WAY DOWN into the water.

Of course.. It wasn't really a nice set, wasn't mine, and the shafts were graphite... So I didn't really wrap it, more.... shattered it.

Kinda silly though.

No need to do that crap, not to mention it's dangerous throwing shit like that around the course.

PureStroke is an unknown quantity at this point
LOL... Me and a playing partner one day were walking the course , and we caught up to this other 2wsome on the tee of a long par 3 . We where gonna join up with them but waited back a little so they can hit their tee shots. the first guy just pures his shot to 8 feet, LMFAO then started talkin crap to his buddy who proceeds to chunk his shot just behind the ladies tees LOl after doing this he does this happy gilmore swing and shanks it right into the back of the tee marker and the ball comes back and nails him right in the ankle bone. This guy screams like a wounded Kangaroo and dropped like a sack of bricks. Then his buddy really started crackin up and the guy chucks the club his way and missed. So we figured naaaa we wont join up with these guys and played through, while this guy was transported away via the marshall and his golf cart to the clubhouse . That was the craziest thing I had seen in awhile on a golf course

You don't post much, but they're gems! That's a brilliant idea!

It was probably someone else's club that he had found on the prior hole.

Like Eracer said, that's a brilliant idea.

We were on a golf trip and one of the guys was a real joker. He's in the group ahead of mine and we see him blow an easy putt. He immediately storms off the green and slams his graphite shafted wedge into a tree. Shaft breaks, head flies off, the whole deal. He's standing there cussing and screaming...really losing it! We're all standing there with our mouths standing open, not knowing what to do.

Then, the entire group ahead busts up laughing! He had missed the putt on purpose, and had the wedge there for that exact reason (it was already trashed...something he'd found somewhere).

In retrospect, it was classic!!

I witnessed an inadvertant club toss once. Playing on a very rainy winter day we got on the first tee, a par 4 with a large pond in front of the tee. One of the guys was showing off his brand new Cobra driver and talking about how far he could hit with the new club.

He gets up to the ball, takes a mighty swing and dribbles the ball about 10' off the tee. Unfortunately he lost his grip on the club and it sailed out about 50 yards into the pond. It floated there, handle up like a periscope, in about 3' of water.

We were all laughing our a**es off until we got that look. He didn't see any humor in the situation. Apparently his kids had saved their allowances, babysitting and yard mowing money just to buy dad the club he wanted.

He stripped and waded in to retrieve the club. Judging from the "Costanza Effect" when he got out, the water was realllly cold.
