Special pricing for Trappers Turn.

From now until they close, which they say won't be until the snow is on the ground for good, Trappers Turn has dropped their $55 for all yuo can play pricing. It's now you pay whatever the temperature is at your tee off, & they say the price won't ever be over $49.

Today the weather is lousy & tomorrow is supposed to be cloudy with a high of 34º. However the rest of the week looks great, sunny & warm for this time of year, 43º tuesday up to 54º on friday. Be a perfect week to get out & play this course if you never have, plus considering the price during the summer is $124 you can't beat this price.

Wow.. What a nice price break.. I guess when I get thankful I don't have any courses that close down here, I also don't get to play the higher end places for cheap.

I guess it's just as well. Most of the nice places are private or semi private that only allow you to play with a member.

That is a great price.

Same thing around here FatCity, the majority of the nicer courses are very exclusive, You either have to be a member or sleep with one to be allowed to play them.

They only one I really want to play is Annandale, where they play the Viking Classic. But they only allow allow the members a certain number of guests a year and sadly I don't know anyone who is a member there well enough.

Wow, limited guests?

I really want to play Reynolds Plantation over here. They have great courses on the lake, but they are around $125-175 for 18 depending on the course, and you have to have a member with you, or a caddy.

Too rich for my blood, but I could understand. If I paid $125,000 initiation fee, and $425 a month membership, I wouldn't want the goat track trash like myself to be hacking in my fairways!

So Wi.. I take it your snaggin up these great deals aren't ya? Do most the courses up there, do that?

Hell yes, some of the nicer courses do have a "locals" rate during the summer, but it's nowhere near this cheap. The Dells is a huge tourist area so they soak the suckers err I mean guests with insane pricing.

So I play all the courses this time of the year, they are empty & the rates are great. And yes most of the courses around here heavily discount their fees.

So it's goat tracks in the spring and summer, and the luxury in the fall/winter...

I'm telling myself if I can post a score of 81 or under next year, atleast once.. I'll go treat myself to something nice and pricey..

Of course.. I probably won't.. But it's motivation.

I play a fair number of goat tracks, but I also have the luxury of making enough $$ where it doesn't bother me to spend $80-90 for a rd during the summer. Obviously I won't pay that much every rd but once a month or so is fine with me. Plus a number of the nicer courses such as Six Mile creek, University Ridge, Old Hickory, etc are $50 or so with a cart during the week.

See, thats where I get frustrated.. I have no problem paying that, but every week I won't.

For me to play during the week, 18 at what would be a "goat track" around here, is an easy $40-65.. The nicer normal courses are $60-80, adding $10-15 for the weekends/holidays.

The nice places, where you want to be seen, are uber private/semi private are $120+, and generally $150 ish plus caddy as the norm.

I'll play my $52, 18 and a cart every week and be happy, and spoil on the $120+ when I shoot better.

Those prices would force me to quit. Here the average nice course will set you back about $50-60 with a cart on the weekend for 18 holes. Goat tracks can be had for $25 with a cart. Caddies are unheard of around here as well, they do offer them at Erin Hills which is probably the best course around. Most likely they will be getting the US Open in 2017 or 2018. That course goes for $140 or so but in the spring they do have a $95 rate for state residents.

I'm in the wrong state apparently.

I want to play Reynold Plantation, Oconee Course.. it's $260 for 18 and a cart.

I'd love to play it, it's a 7300 yard track by Rees Jones.

I just can't afford golf like that!!

I just wish in the south they did like what you guys have. No snow, or super cold to shut down a course, even though course traffic is way down in the winter.

I'll stick with my yearly hack at Cuscowilla, which is across the lake.. I can play for $85, with family(member) instead of the $165 normal rate.

What do you consider down south? A number of the courses in the Dallas TX area have discounted rates in the winter. I played one on february that normally is $18 to walk 9 holes on a weekend, I paid $8.

Without sounding strange, and silly... Texas isn't considered "the south"..

I grew up in Texas, and lived there for many years.. While some consider it south, it's really more Southwest, but most native Texans, consider texas it's on entity.

That being said, the south, is really Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas, Georgia, South Carolina..

Florida is not the south, ever.

Those states generally don't have discounted rates in the winter.. I know a few courses might drop 5-8 bucks off the fees when the traffic dies down around now, but you never see anything really worth while.

I'd love to see a $100 course, be $50-60 bucks. But it's extremely rare.

That's one advantage we have living up here, every course discounts the rates in spring & fall. However we do have the disadvantage of only playing from April-beginning of Nov. But then if I played year rd I would be broke. Need to winter time off to rebuild my golfing nest egg.
