Rich and famous members - their handicaps aren't necessarily equal to ours. Think Judge Smails and his "winter rules" kicks. An article in Golf Digest about Jack Nicholson had him admitting all manner of cheating, and his playing partners said he was being conservative with his admissions.

Just a theory.

From the Tips it measures about 200 yards on Google earth. You can see it on Google Earth, it is Magnetti Circle.

Interestingly enough, it looks like the trees they took down are still down in the map and the are at the top of the hole. So I am getting the impression he wants a net put up further up the hole. Or in someone else's back yard, as it would do nothing to stop a ball if it were in his back yard unless it was in between his house and his neighbors. Would probably bitch if they put on in his back yard.

Sorry, but you buy a house that close to the course, you are asking for it. It is close.

Would post the picture, but it is copyrighted.

Although this sucks, there is a funny part. Donald Trump saying “I’m very surprised something couldn’t have been worked out. To close a hole, it’s a sad day for the club. I’m thinking maybe I’ll visit the gentleman. I’d love to go and mediate it.”

I bet. I'd love to see that. Or maybe I wouldn't. I believe that guy knows how to play hardball in bullshit situations like this.

I don't know much about trees but couldn't they "replant" some to block the house again? I'd also think they could restructure the teeboxes on the hole. If that many guys hack it, keep the tournament teebox but shut it down for play. Then move the "regular" teeboxes as far right as possible and shorten the yardage up. Make it so basically you'd need to slice a mid or short iron about 100yds. to even come close to the house.

That is the part that annoys me more than anything, and mentioned in the initial post. They did spend $70k to replant the trees, but the guy said they should have done it with a net. Which again, in order to block balls from entering his yard, they would have to put the net behind someone else's house. How happy would you be if you owned a house up toward the tee box and they put a net up blocking your view for the sake of someone down the way. No way the course will be able to please everyone and the reason the guy should put up a net to shield his own house.

We have a similar hole on the 6th hole on our course. I know the guy that lives by the hole and he simply put a net up. Although it is not obvious because it is in the trees between the houses, which is the only way to block balls pulled or hooked that direction. The ball isn't slicing 200 yards, then suddenly slicing in the last 5 yards and going in side ways. No net is going to block this unless it is on the side of his house, or again behind his neighbors house, 2 houses up. If I lived next to this guy his life would be miserable or he would move. That is just flat out selfish to not want to change your own situation and put it off on the course to work it out with the other neighbors, which is what would clearly happen.

Thing is, Trump will just offer him twice what the house is worth, tear it down, and put a fountain there.

Or, if the guy refuses, he'll buy the entire hole and rebuild it somewhere else. So long to the nice view you paid for, sucker!

Walkens role in "King of New York" comes to mind. Take him a brief case full of Tampons, and when he asks what it's for, tell him "To plug up the holes"

He knows real estate markets suck everywhere and wants out of that house.

"No, thank you. I do not want to sell my house. I just want my family safe. Again, no thanks. Not at any price. It's about my family's safety. No thanks. I'm just worried about my dog."

"Wait. What was that last offer?"

"I only took the offer to ensure the safety of my family and dog. It was never about the money."

Then he turns around and buys that house he's had his eye on overlooking the sixth hole on Baltrousal. He's always had a hankering to live in Jersey don't you know.

The guy's a phony.

Kevin

Which is basically saying how it was before was not adequate in his opinion.

So in that scenario it would be more like cutting down trees by the road and when the neighbor complains, they then they then put a wall up.

Which even if that were the case, do you think the guy is deserving of say on what the course does with their trees? They basically did all they could, if a tree dies and falls down and they put up a new tree, should they be punished for the tree dieing?

There is also a reason I imagine that coursed do not put up nets. One, they are not really responsible, two, if they put the net up you will likely have the neighbor suing because the net is an eyesore.
In reality the guy should have kept his mouth shut and sold the house before the market tanked.

When I first started selling real estate I remember showing a house that backed up to one of the local courses. When we went inside and started looking around we were all impressed and I remember asking myself how this house could not have sold at the asking price.

And then........BOOM!!!!

We went out to see what it was and you could see where at least 50 golf balls had nailed the side of the house. It was one of those fake stucco houses so you could see every repair mark. The builder had screwed up and built it directly in the line of fire off one of the tee boxes.

Not sure if it ever sold.

I like Dennis Hopper even better, knowing that he was going to die anyway, asking Walken if he knew where Sicilians came from.
