Question What instruction method is this?

At one of the ranges I go to, I have seen this lady getting instuction from a guy in what has to be the wierdest technique I have ever seen. No, it's not what you're thinking, it's actually a golf swing of sorts.

He tees up a line of balls for her, about six. Then he has her stand with her right leg crossed in front of her left leg, so that her right foot is to the left of her left foot.

Then she swings her driver in a complete circle rather than taking a backswing. She contacts the ball and sends it about 100 yards, never getting higher off the ground than 3 feet. Then she falls to the left, although I haven't seen her fall completly over yet. She works her way down the row of teed up balls, doing the same thing over and over.

It's entertaining, but does anyone know what they are trying to accomplish?

Do you know the difference between a BMW and a porcupine? The porcupine has its' pricks on the outside.

Though I've never seen it, I only suppose it is to keep balance. It would be like swinging with your feet together.

This sounds somewhat like "Gravity Golf", which is the system I follow and have been *really* happy with. Though the complete circle thing seems odd. The point of one footed drills (or crossed leg drills) is to teach your brain to swing with relaxed arms, using your hips to generate the power. If you tense your arms during the swing, you'll lose balance and your brain is hardwired not to let that happen -- so it will program itself to swing more efficiently.

Anyhow, this seems like a knock off of that.

And if you cross your legs and swing with your hips, you are opn your ass.

Granted, I do one footed drills, as there are no crossed leg drills in my Gravity Golf materials. I just thought it sounded like it's trying to accomplish the same sort of thing.

I do have a video camera.

But I'm not stupid enough to video some woman's ass while she has a driver in her hands.

Hey cactushack, how have your results been with gravity golf? I just got the book and I am wondering if I should really try it. Thanks.
