VTDivot and Loop in the Rain - Shot Talk

Well we slogged thru the mud this morning at Triangle d'Or and aside from having to run away from the locals for fear of our lives (a slow play issue) we had a great time.

The match was no-blodded, with Loop winning the front 3UP and I rebounded for a 3UP win on the back. Loop got payed out huge (3$ LOL) for his 3 pieces of trash... (3 drives and a bird - I Xceled one with a sandy)

On the immigration front - I would have gotten stuck in Canada as I forgot my passport and had to go back to the house to get it at 6am (I mean how often do you bring your passport with you when you play golf)

The course was a very nice layout 6800 yards from the tips and was fairly open. The fairways were tree lined, but nothing too severe that would cause you to need to reload too often. It was WET, it has been raining for a few days here in New England and Quebec, and if you don't know seigneurial quebec, it is flatland and does not drain well (opposite of the mountain golf we have here). And needless to say, the course played long and "squishy", ball striking was extremely important - and our scores reflected this

I think this would be a fun venue if it were dry, I wouldn't want to play it again in the slop, but am looking forward maybe in another few weeks to go at it again with Loop for round 2.

I had this lie in the bunker, we were a little unclear of the rules concerning standing water in a hazard, so Loop let me drop it. I made a great out (a low skipper) and made 3 and won this hole... thanks Loop

Here's a down-the-line view. Loop hit this right center about 240 yards carry. We weren't getting any roll today.

Loop hit this shot that landed at the base of this bunker (it was a very large bunker) and rolled up and out of the bunker, leaving the chip you see below. I've seen plenty of balls hit and bouce out, but this thing just kept rolling uphill. I checked the bunker afterwards, and sure enough, it was like cement.

Good day indeed, apart from the wet conditions.
VTDivot is a true gentleman, very nice and talkative.
The match was decided on the last three holes, and it couldn't have been written any better, as it was exciting until the very end.
We were competitive, but we were also rooting for each other. That's the kind of game we like

Here, VTDivot had to hack the ball out of a plugged lie in the rough.
