Silver Springs Falls course.

Any wisconsinites play it yet? I know we played the Island course last fall & it was a pretty decent course. This one isn't as long as the Island course but hopefully will still be fun. Have an 8:40 am tee time saturday if anyone else wants to tag along.

Re: Silver Springs Falls course.

nututhugame and I are going to get the stuff for re-siding my garage in the AM so I can't even though I'd love to. Then in the PM some friends from Twin Disc invited me for golf and beer and steaks afterward. Otherwise I'd be on it like flies on doggy doo doo.

Re: Silver Springs Falls course.

I played it a couple years ago. thought it was a good course. Just not as popular as the Island course.

Re: Silver Springs Falls course.

The course stinks, or at least the management of it by the players & the non existent rangers. I have literally never seen such poor play, poor manners & slow play in my life. Every tee shot there were at least 3 out of every group who would tee up a 2nd & sometimes a 3rd ball because they sucked so bad at hitting a ball. Course was backed up a bit but that was the fault of not having any rangers to keep the pace up & players who were playing as Zaphod calls it "Army Golf", the shots went left, right, left , right, left, etc etc.

2 balls would be next to each other & one person would sit in the cart until the other had hit & then after the 1st guy hit his ball, put his club away & climbed back in the cart, the other guy would slowly get out of the cart, choose a club, put it back, pick another club, & then proceed to launch the ball 20 yds right.

My wife & I were playing & I was doing fairly well, used 3 w a lot off the tee & keeping the ball in play. had to play thru a 6 some...that's right a 6 some. Then came up on a 3 some who would not shut up long enough to take a shot. Claimed they were waiting on the group in front of them but I saw nobody anywhere on the hole???????

In the meantime the 6 some catches up, no no way should a 6 some ever catch a 3 some but it was happening time & time again.

Shot an extremely aggravating 41 on the front, was happy with my shots but not happy with how long it took, almost 3 hrs to play 9 holes!!!!!!!!!! Drove to the 10th tee which is a bit of cruise & came up on 2 more groupls waiting as well as 2 out on the hole already. I told my wife I was giving up & getting out of Dodge before I bludgeoned someone with a club.

It would have taken 6+ hrs to play 18 holes, totally unacceptable to myself.

Re: Silver Springs Falls course.

Kinda glad I slept in then. Would have opened the 19th hole for you if I knew it would be that bad.
