Talking My Dad won a car! :)

Seriously!.... Hole in one in a tourny on Sunday bagged my Dad a brand new 2010 Honda Accord (loaded). I have only heard the news from my Mom, but I can't wait to get the details from him.

What crazy timing for his first hole in one!, What a nice friggin car he just won... Crazy exciting. All I know is that it was the 4th hole at Fox Meadow, with a 7w.

Maybe he will sell me his Mini Cooper for cheap

Re: My Dad won a car! :)

My dad one a car once about 3-4 yrs ago. Not on a hole in one but from the VT state lottery. He would buy his lotterey ticket and if they weren't winners you could enter them into a "second chance" drawing for the car and he won it!

Chevy SSR Roadster with a Corvette engine, fully loaded, leather interior and Bose speaker system. Its a a little small but overall a cool car that was even cooler since it was free (sticker price was like $46K).

My brother had a $10,000 hole in one about 7 or 8 years ago.

Actually the USGA changed that rule, at least the last time I heard they had changed that rule. For something like this or winning a Million dollars on a hole in one you can claim the prize without giving up your amateur status. It's basically for one time deals like this not if your playing for money or prizes on a regular basis.

Thanks BigJim - wow I wasnt aware of that thank you - and here is the Rule

3-2. Prize Limits
a. General

An amateur golfer must not accept a prize (other than a symbolic prize) or prize voucher of retail value in excess of $750 or the equivalent, or such a lesser figure as may be decided by the USGA. This limit applies to the total prizes or prize vouchers received by an amateur golfer in any one competition or series of competitions.

Exception: A prize, including a cash prize, for a hole-in-one made while playing golf may exceed the above prize limit.

Halifax, good news your dad can still play in your club championships but i also agree with Wi-Golfer

Mini Cooper?

Save yourself a big bill down the road and get the Accord.
