A Little Winter Game

I debated about where to post this; and decided it is definitely a shot to discuss.

It looks like a nice little game you and a buddy could play when the weather is too bad to actually go to the course.

Re: A Little Winter Game

Man...at that distance i wouldn't doubt if a ball going 150mph could cause some internal injuries if it hits the right spot...

Not to mention the possibility of catching one in the groin...eye...knocking teeth out....knocking you out...

Ok, that is probably one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. The dude was probably in the hospital that night with a ruptured spleen or something,

Not that I'd ever be willing to participate in such a game, but I think if I were forced to there's no way I'd face the guy. That hit wasn't a whole lot higher than his junk.

Re: A Little Winter Game

How ridiculously stupid. It's not like he was trying to hit it over him like the Mickelson/Pelz shot (which I still find a bit stupid). This guy actually WANTED to by hit by a golf ball going at top speed.

I bet I know who he voted for. Nobody who intends to pay for healthcare would be that stupid.

Re: A Little Winter Game

Definitely done with a softer, fake golf ball but none the less, STUPID.

It's all about trends. There seems to be an outrageous amounts of "jack ass" stunts being posted on youtube since the "jack ass" movie.

And youtube sponsors apparently pay a certain amount for every hit a video gets.

Believe me, kids were doing stupid shit and video taping it LONG before jackass came out. They were doing the same stupid shit long before video camera's came out as well. They just didn't have a place they could share it with the world for free. Free hosting sites just did not exist back then.

Now, i'm not saying jackass didn't cause many of these video's but they are definitely not the start of all this.

Good point!

I remember as a kid all our friends went out with bottle rockets and played a game of "war". One guy foolishly tackled another guy ( freakin' idiot to this day! ) and both of the two guys landed on top of the rocket, rolling around on the ground several timesfighting for the weapon. I remember hearing a mufled "boom' and a glow of light shout out from under them and then there was some screaming.
So I think maybe foolish behaviour would have always existed, but I wonder if a more extreme version is acheived while trying for some recognition.

We held them in our hands and would fire them at each other.
The one idiot started shooting people close range, and one guy didn't like it very much so they started wrstling and eneded up on top of the still lit rocket. It went off under them and both suffered 3rd degree burns.

Not sure the exact name of the fireworks, but they were the ones that you were supposed to stick into the ground that looked like a big candlestick and would fire about 10 shots over 100ft. into the air.

It only made sense to hold them and fire them on a horizontal angle at anything that was living.

Re: A Little Winter Game

We used to put bottle rockets under the bathroom door when other co-workers were pewping. But I wasn't really a kid, I was about 20. That junk was LOUD if you were the one in the bathroom.
