Tuscumbia CC - Green Lake... anyone played it?

I have a free round at Tuscumbia CC in Green Lake on saturday. Anyone able to give me some insight? Zaphod, Sssmokin?

One of the few in the area that I haven't played either.

I've played it but 20 years ago. It was nothing special, but it was in good shape "back then". Don't know now. Always had fun there when I played it.

It's a typical muni type course. Similar to Brown's lake I'd say. Up down up down up down. No real thought given to the layout. I used to play it all the time about 100 years ago.

So the reason my friend and I went 2hrs each way to play and average course is because at this past years golf expo in Mil. they had a booth and had this deal where you give $5 that went to a charity and they give you a plastic bag full of little goodies. The bag itself being a goodie in that it was worth a free round. The goodies were a ball, tees, a ballmark repair/ball marker/pencil tool, and other lit. Today we cashed in the bag. It was cold out (mid to high 30's most of the day). It was awesome though because we were the only ones there and the one guy working let us play an extra 9..... twice. So $5 for the bag and $15 for the cart and we played 36 holes of have the course to yourself golf. I hit some terrible shots and some great ones en route to scoring a 197 over 36 holes. A little above average for me, but oh well.... one of the 9's was a 44 so I was pretty happy. We'll just say the 1'st 9 of the day was "not so good".

The course was as I said pretty average. LOTS of big ass trees. I did like the greens and the fact that the sand was actually soft playable sand unlike where I usually play where it's hard dirtsand. The holes as you see them on the card are all pretty straight away, but some of the tee locations made the holes interesting.

Wrapped up the day with a monster burger and bacon ranch fries from Hardees. MMMMM. All in all great day.

Glad you had fun. In another life I lived in Ripon and played it alot since it was much cheaper then Lawsonia and I was poor then. I played our company league on Lawsonia though but it was only 18 holes instead of 36.
