been a while got a new toy to go golfing

its been a while since I had the chance to log on, my old golf cart was getting to cramped to put clubs in(99 miata) so I have to upgrade to something that could get me to the course that took any weather or terrain to get to..

I opted for this baby 7 inch lift on 35 inch tires

al gore can kiss my ass because this beast gets about 7 mpg highway :-)

so since I have my new toy I am always out golfing now and its the best decision I ever made

the other day I went trailing in mud for 2 hours straight... drove her right to the golf course after wards

just figured I would let yall know my dedication to the game

Re: been a while got a new toy to go golfing

Good lookin' CJ!!!! They may not get the best mpg... but who cares!!! If you wanted mpg, you could have got a Prius and not had half the fun!!!

Do be extremely careful with what you leave in the CJ! Those are a favorite of scumbags wanting to steal clubs, etc. The canvas top doesn't allow much in the way of security.

Be careful out there!!! Even though they are virtually indestructable, they will go over. When you do get 'er stuck... When she's buried to the axle... When she's high centered on the gopher hill... give me a call. My Silverado and I will come give you a tow!!!!!!!!! LOL

What the hell does this have to do with golf?

Anyways.. be weary of what you leave in view.. I don't think I know anyone with a Jeep that hasn't had their car gone through by strangers.

Re: been a while got a new toy to go golfing

I used to leave my doors unlocked so thieves wouldn't cut the top on their way in.

You should easily knock down 15+ mpg unless it's an earlier 3-speed automatic, even then you should be 12+. Speedo's probably wrong as hell making you think you're getting worse mpg than you are, and think you're going a lot slower than you really are. You can get the appropriate speedo gear at the dealer for about $10, and it's an easy 10 minute install.

Get rid of those nerf bars.

Re: been a while got a new toy to go golfing

Actually, that's a TJ Sport with a 4.0L I6, late 90's thru 2003 model (I think) based on the mirrors, bushwacker flares, body lift, mud tires...(I have an 04 LJ)

How is the 7" of lift made up, and have I seen those pics on a Jeep site before? Looks familiar.

Re: been a while got a new toy to go golfing

insurance cost me 8 dollars extra a month for a 0 deduct plan that covers any theft, broken windshields, windows, tops, stolen parts of anything

so basicly anything stolen or robbed from the jeep is covered

I am not a guy that buys a jeep to drive highway.. I want to go the scenic route

heres some pics of my adventure to chadwick in the day

sadly the lift is a 3 inch body and a 4 inch suspension but it gets the job done

went with a 15 jeep convoy at about 8 at night in pitch black... was awesome

yup its a 99 tj 4.0l sport

bushwacker flares, procomp lift, body lift, steering stabalizer, trailjammer intake, trailjammer large throttle body, trailjammer programmer module, flowmaster exhaust, tons more parts

she getting rhinolined inside and out for 1500

Re: been a while got a new toy to go golfing

I thought that looked like a big body lift. You could change that to a 1" and still clear the 35's with ease, you know.

Re: been a while got a new toy to go golfing

I'm a big believer in "It's your Jeep and your money, so do what you want"...as opposed to the opinions on some forums. Like the nerfs, for example: I've got chrome ones on mine (on there when I bought it). Not my favorite, but there's nothing wrong with them and they work great for my kids. So, I'll leave them until I mess them up, or I come across a great deal on some sliders.

I did replace the tube bumpers, but not until I got deals on the replacements.

The jeep looks nice, btw!

Re: been a while got a new toy to go golfing

I put the Mopar rockcrawler front/rear bumpers on mine. Like the way they look, and got both for less $$ than the front cost retail.

Holy hell! I had to Google it to make myself believe you (no offense - that's just a huge price for something that used to be so cheap.) No joke, I bought mine a few years ago at the dealer for either $7.99 or $8.99 for my '97. That's nuts.

No, it isn't. Either your speedo is horriby wrong or your exhaust manifold is cracked. Both are likely. Mine looked like this and very easily got ~14mpg in city driving and ~16mpg hwy. It got about 10mpg while the exhaust manifold was cracked.
