    Stooopid irons!!!!one!

As I mentioned before, I started playing around 3 years ago and have in that time, yoyo'ed between issues. In the last year I have worked hard on my long and short irons and got pretty decent at them. I then concentrated on the most feared clubs in my bag. My woods. :/

In the last couple of weeks I finally made a break through. Can now hit my woods and driver long and straight. Whew...right?

Now I can't hit the side of a barn with my irons.

Will I ever get everything working at once or am I doomed to forever beating my head against the nearest standing pine tree and crying "Why me God?"? [/vent]
Seems to be the thing here to name your clubs, so here ya go.

I'm a southpaw, and so is my main golfing buddy. We get comments.

The short answer is no. If you do figure out how to get all aspects of your game working at the same time you will become a pro.

1.) I hit my drives long, straight, and in the fairway.

2.) I hit my irons crisp and close to the pin.

3.) When I do miss a green, my chip shots are within just a couple feet of the flag.

4.) My putts seem to have radar guiding them to the center of the cup.

5.) Only ONE of 1, 2, 3, & 4 will happen on any given day.

Or even more disheartening, is when you do get it all going at once, for 16 holes. That is the worst.

Yep, I've never had it happen for 16 holes, but I did play lights out ONE time for 14 holes. Then I made of the fatal mistake of thinking, (didn't even say it out loud), that I was enroute to shooting my best score ever. At that point I completely forgot how to execute a golf swing, :bang:

I was 2 under for 16 once. I made the mistake of thinking "bogey-par finish" instead of just playing. Double-double finish. I've never played that well again; it was 2 years ago. A watershed moment for me, perhaps.

Ouch, that would hurt. I wasn't anywhere near that low when I fell apart. I was probably 5 over at the time, then didn't make better than double the rest of the round.

Been playing almost every day for the past 4 to 5 weeks. In fact, in the past 4 weeks have only missed 3 days. This past week has even included two days of 27 holes.

For the first time in as long as I can remember, wore a sore spot on the right index finger. Didn't have tape or bandaids in my bag. So, dropped the finger down the shaft and really backed off on trying to kill the ball. Equalled the best round of the season, this morning. Went 42/37 for a 79. 3 birds...

Buddy picked up a set of X18's at the turn. (Another story!!) So, he had played those for the back nine... and was thrilled. Wife was working, so played the third nine. Struggled to a 43 on that one. 42/37/43 isn't too bad for an old fart!!!!!
