I play the Tommy Armour 25, which is a forged muscleback. If you truly mean full blade, you're in for a scare. If you mean musclebacks, I would recommend the Armours, the MP14s from Zuno, the Nikes are even good. Good luck with your decision.

If you're good enough for blades with what you're using, why not keep them?

(This is me calling the kettle black here, as I was so in the same boat a while back)

I say, stick with what you're comfortable with. If the pro II's are driving you nuts, then get some new sticks. Demo like a demon.

If you have the skills to pay the bills, you really shouldn't be asking people's opinions on the net. I found that out when testing forged irons.

Personally, I hate Nike's. Crowe likes them. So where do you go from here?

Try them all out.

What I mean is this, below is a muscleback:

You should notice the slight mass of weight down low. A full blade is ultra old-school and is "flat" throughout the clubhead with no weight distribution. They are scary to play. That's all.

You can try the TA1, as Cleveland is liquidating them (if they are still available) for replacement with the CG1. Bought mine last spring for 600$ can, and I just love them. The grip, the buttery feel, the mass distribution, everything's great. It is true they are Form Forged, meaning the fabrication process is Cast (like all the Ping Irons), but the result is on par with other true forged MB.
The newer CG1 is truly forged though. The CG1 also has a little bit more of a rounded mass behind the clubface, so it doesn't look like any of the classical MB.

Anyways, ask Gun if he likes his TA1.

I do like mine, a week or so back i was having second thoughts and maybe switching back to my supersteels, but once i put my net up in the backyard and really got down to pounding for hours i finally fell in love with them, today i changed my stance a little bit and became much more consistent with my accuracy and distance, i still have much work to do, played today, my putter finally got on track and i was able to card a 77 with 32 degree weather, not bad, i guess, if i were you just as everyone says demo everything you can, then once you've decided demo some more, once you do get some stix get them custom fitted, for me the switch from cavity backs to blades has been tough but its making me a much better player. i got my TA1's for 349 bucks (us dollars , sorry) from www.golfdiscount.com

im demoing a set of mp-33's tomorrow I think mizuno is by far the best iron make I heading to the golf spot at 12 then a hour of practice and a quick 9 I will let you know how I get on with them, I would order a set from the sets but you effing have to pay tax and dutys and postage so it doesn't realy work out any cheaper.

33's are the straight dope. Great irons. If i had the nads, i'd buy a new set. But my X-16's seem to work ok.

Damn people here, always ruining my thinking. (And probably saved me hundreds of dollars!.....lol)
