Stay open or go to the range?

Well, my animal clinic is doing absolutely no business today. I guess everyone is at the mall exchanging socks and neckties. Usually we have some patients: Fluffy ate the chocolate cake, etc..... but nada today.

So I'm thinking of closing the door at 4PM and going to the range. What do you think? Yes? No?

You should stay open your posted hours. I'd feel pretty guilty if some child's pet got sick and I wasn't there to help when I said that I would.

The 2 local emergency clinics were open all day, so no one was deprived of services. I stayed at work from 8 to 4 and had 2 patients, both for very minor problems. I also had about 10 telephone calls, all from price shoppers.

I guess a lot of people were at the mall.

LOL....Crude, but this caught me....

"Uh, Hi. How much will it cost to remove a lawn dart from my hampster?.....uh huh.....uh huh......huh.....ok, thanks.

Honey, let's head to the mall and buy a new hampster for the kids."

I get similar ones all the time. Yesterday it was "How much to fix a female cat?" So I tell them. "My God!". Click.

I swear, one day I'm going to say "What part of her is broken?" or "I'll tell you what, you bring her in, I'll loan you the instruments, and you spay her. If she lives, I'll pay you."

So what your saying is that if I have a hampster with a lawn dart in it, I should sell a kidney?

No worries, Doc. My pup gets the vet treatment. I appreciate what those guys and gals go through, plus all the BS they have to deal with.

Ha, funny story...sorta. I was taking my beagle in for the snip in early December, and a girl brought in her little chihuahua (Sp?). I guess the little bugger swallowed an SOS pad.

"Please, help my Pedro! Please!"

Meanwhile, the dog is just loving life....takes a dump in the corner of the office, SOS pad in it...

I chuckled to myself on the way to work.....Pedro? Great name for that dog...

Work or Range

Sadly I don't have the choice. My employer would be a bit annoyed if I buggered off to the range during working hours.

Well that's an unusual way to get the internal pipes scrubbed out. Sometimes I have idly wondered about doing a rigorous study to determine what the critical level is for brain mass in mammals, by using dog breeds and the stupid things the wee ones do.

Agreed. I usually use something like hot wings or Mexican food.

Well I am quite suprised that this poll is running 40% / 60%. People have no priorities ??? figure it this way- if you die tonight did you want your last day spent working or golfing??
I do home repairs etc for a living. If those people can't do without running water for a few days they are just soft !! and if I am in the middle of the job when the chance comes to tee off i only let the water run long enough to wash my hands (The grip is the essence of a clean hit) then cap it and tell the client i will back when the parts arrive
