Myrtle Beach

I'm planning a golf vacation to Myrtle Beach in the middle of February, I have the accomadations taken care of for 1 week, can anyone recommend some good quality courses to play without paying a lot of money, I'm playing to a 10 handicap. Any other recom. to restaurants also would be greatly appreciated. I live in Hamilton Ontario, so I'm thinking about driving thru to I90 to 79 to 77 to 20 to Myrtle Beach. Any other route quicker? Thanks, any info would help a lot, Motts

Hi Motts,

Where abouts are you staying in Myrtle Beach? I don't want to suggest courses that are a 1 hour drive from your accommodations. Let me know and I'll suggest some good courses for your group.

We are staying at the Sheraton on the Robert Grissom Parkway.

Myrtlewood-2 courses
The Legends-3 courses
Wild Wing-4 courses
Myrtle Beach National-3 Courses
Man O'War
The Witch
Pine Lakes
The Wizard

All of these should be within pretty close proximity to the Sheraton and I would think would be very reasonable this time of the year.

You could also add Arrowhead and Prestwick to the above list of courses that JPPE suggested.

I really enjoy playing golf at Myrtle Beach. You have many courses to choose from. Some are better than others. And some are more difficult than others. If you want any advice then let me know. God bless.

When we went, we got a golf package. Golf included in the package at The Sands. Nothing I really remember about the courses, but I would recommend the restaurant The Carolina Roadhouse.

I have been informed by a fellow Hamiltonian that there is a quicker route to take other than the one recommended by the CAA which will take 14 to 15 hours. I'm just hoping that mother nature will be good to us on the trip down. If any one is interested on the outcome when we get back I shall post on the chat room, Motts

That quicker route means driving 90 MPH So what courses are you playing?

Courses

I have been advised just to pick up a local newspaper, check the specials in the sports section and book day to day. It sounds like a good idea considering that mother nature could surprise us with the weather. Motts

This may help as well, plus if you are staying in a hotel or resort, they should have all the info you need.
