Tiger, Bob Hope Chrysler Classic

Why won't Tiger participate in the Hope? What's the prob? Does it have anything to do with Woods deal with Buick?

* * *

December 12, 2006, from today's Desert Sun newspaper-

Here's the answer-

"Why no Tiger?
The Bob Hope Chrysler Classic is one of less than a dozen events which Tiger Woods has never played in. Reasons Woods hasn't played the event are varied:

Woods' power game off the tee, including spraying the ball into the rough at times, wouldn't fit well into the Hope's traditional short, narrow courses.

Woods is sponsored by Buick; the Hope is sponsored by Chrysler

Woods is said to not like the idea of playing with three different amateurs a day for four days, or playing four different courses during the week. Woods also has cut his participation in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Woods already plays a strong West Coast schedule that always includes the Buick Invitational in San Diego and the Accenture Match Play Championship in Carlsbad. He also generally works in events like the Mercedes "

I read that he's just taking some time off. Needs some R&R. Plus his Dad has been pretty ill too.

If you had Elin, 85 million in earnings for 05 alone and a love of spearfishing, wouldn't you skip the Hope too?

I'd skip it just for Elin.

I'd take the 550 million he's made since '96 and buy a bunch of Elins.

And maybe a nice sandwich. Roast beef perhaps. 550 mill? Maybe panda. With dinosaur sauce.

Not saying I'd turn down all the money and other stuff, I'm just saying she'd be enough for me.

I realize Tiger can do what he wants, but I believe he does a diservice to the PGA Tour by skipping so many events.

By the way, if I was in his shoes, I'd probably skip a lot of events too.

An appendix, maybe.

I'd be willing to bet that, every now and then, Eldrick gets really, really tired of listening to her shit.

Trust me.

You know that American Express commercial where Eldrick is outside hitting balls in the pouring down rain? Why do you think he's outside?
