Las Vegas Golf

Hey all,

Just booked my vacation to Vegas and I need to find a cheap public course to play. Closer to the strip the better. Any help? Anyone?

Of course, I'll be on the tour caliber courses later in my trip just have to win the cash at the poker/blackjack tables to be able to afford it.

Not Sure your idea of cheap for Las Vegas

Around $100 may be considered cheap for most for Vegas. If that is the case Paiute is one of the better places I have ever played for just over $100, although it is about 30 minutes outside of Vegas, and a cab may be expensive if you do not have a rental car. http://www.lvpaiutegolf.com/
I only pay over $100 for vacation golf.

Now if $40-50 is your idea of cheap, which is probably rock bottom for Vegas, and you aren't expecting a Gem of a course. I did play one out there the first time when I had trouble getting a tee time. I believe it is Desert Rose. This was a few years back and I believe we only paid around $50 for Greens Fees, Cart and Club Rental. I think it was $40 to ride and we even found a buy one get one free on www.lasvegasgolf.com. Definately not the nicest course I've played, but for $40-50, it was well worth the money for what you can get in Vegas. I do remember they had somewhat expensive houses lining the fairway (usually the left side) with huge nets, and broken windows none the less. Some of the fairways were kind of sun baked at the time, but for the most part it was a decent round of golf and well worth the money.

Again, this was a few years ago, so I can't vouch for the current conditions, but it would be worth checking into, it was about a 20 minute cab ride from Excalibur and by cab was about $30-35 each way at the time, so if you do not have a car it may be better to pay the extra money on golf instead of cab.
