Winter fairways = ego boost

Even though it's been a very warm winter, we've had just enough freezing weather to turn the fairways brown. Add that to no rain in over a month and the ball is rolling forever.

Yesterday I hit this wierd skipping tee shot that looked a little like a rock skipping across a pond. If it had been summer it might have gone 150 yds, but yesteday it rolled about 260. I've even managed a few in the 300 range and I never do that. I even hit my 3 wood around 270 a couple of times.

Nothing personal to you guys up north but I'm not sure I'll be looking forward to Spring.

I have aimed for frozen ponds many a time up here for extra distance. Although one of the funniest I saw, for me not for the other guy, was standing by the green waiting for my friend to hit on from about 100 yards, he hits a beautiful shot from a terrible lie to within about 3-4 feet of the pin, it hits an ice patch, bounces about 30 yards past the green and into some bushes. Sometimes the winter gods look out for you, sometimes they just strike you down.
