Topic to Post Scores?

What do you guys think about making an official thread to put your scores? I dont plan on applying for a handicap this year. (high schooler)Anybody like this idea? Maybe keep up with birdies per round and other things like that. It would be hard to keep track of all that on the course though (fairways, etc)

It's not hard if you mark you're own scores on your own scorecard. Just make a legend of symbols that you're familiar with....one for fairway, one for green in regulation, and a column for putts.

As for a topic for scores, Shot Talk runs a "World Tournament" which last year was the USA versus the world. BDCrowe was nice enough to set up a webpage that included all those participants that signed up at the beginning, where you could enter your score as it related to slope, par and handicap. That way, everyone was on a more level playing field.

I'm sure this will happen again in April/May, when the weather gets better for the more northern players.

Personally, I predict a "World" domination for 2006, just as 2005 was a shit-kicking for the USA....

Keep you're eyes open. It will come to a head in time, forsure.

I'd never heard of this, which is probably a good thing for the USA team. They'd be buying me a one way ticket out of the States.

that is pretty kickass. I didn't know about that. So you just give the sloper and rating of your course and post your scores?

Pretty much. You put in a score a week minimum and the team's points are calculated on an overall average based on handicap, slope and scores posted.

The lower your handicap, the tougher it is to contribute high scores, while if you have a higher handicap, a good day will put you in good grace with your teammates.

It's a good system. It pretty much puts everyone on a level playing field.

I'm assuming April-ish before things start up again.
