The Eyes of the Pros...

I've noticed this while watching PGA events on TV:

When the pros hit a high approach shot to the green, their eyes go up and down several times as the ball reaches its apex and begins its descent to the green. They're trying to watch both the ball and the pin. If they think the ball is going to be close to the pin this tendency becomes more pronounced.

Most of the time when I hit an approach to the green, I manage to keep both the ball and the pin in the same field of view. I can see the ball screaming along at about 2 feet off the ground and I know that if it doesn't hit the pin, it's going over the green, through the bunker, down the slope and into the water hazard.

Saves wear and tear on the neck though.

My favorite is when guys like Freddie or Tiger get upset, and look away from the shot as it lands 10 feet away, pin high.

Obviously these guys have higher standards than normal, but come on...LOL.
