10.5 vs. 11.5 - Shot Talk

I'm thinking of getting a new driver and have been told I should try one with an 11.5 degree loft. What would be the advantage of switching to the 11.5 over my current 10.5?

When I first discovered this Forum, I posted the same question on 12/14/05. The question set off a lively debate. A "10.5 vs 11.5" search should find the thread.

Unless your swing speed is high, a higher lofted driver supposedly will get you more distance. I say suposedly, because driver lofts are not necessarily what is printed on the bottom. I have a Hogan 10.5 that I believe is more like a 12, but I haven't had it checked yet. I suggest you have your current drivers' loft checked before buying a new one, and also check the new one before paying for it.
