Bonus for Rock...Chris Dimarco's bag

Here you go...Chris Dimarco's bag.

His wife was caddying for him so he was using a lightweight carry-bag, the old romantic!

Same clubs as me except for the G5 in Place of the G2, and a few less woods in his bag. The headcover is even uglier than the one I just bought, and I thought it would set me apart from everyone. Maybe he can give me some tips on how to deal with the offset on the i3+, I'm still trying to figure it out. I wonder if his wife colored every other letter orange to blue to match his headcover or if he had Ping do that for him

edit 1 - Oops, I just noticed his are the Blades, I guess that is how he deals with the offset, gets rid of it for the most part.

Rockford35 will become famous soon enough
Still uses the Eye wedges. Interesting. With the wedges that Ping has released as of late, you'd think he'd buck up.

That says something to me about the new wedges from Ping...

I kinda thought the same thing, although most of the reviews I have seen rate the Ping tour not far behind the Cleveland and Titleist wedges. I like the one I have, compared to the Clevelands, however I am no expert.

I wonder if it may have more to do with prefering the Cavity back design and a little bit larger sole? I was also a little surprised to not see the S59 clubs in the same sense. Or possibly the I5

Golf Digest did the "What's in the Bag" article on him in the Dec. 2005 edition. He stated:

"Ping i3+ Blade, 2-iron through Pitching Wedge (black dot), Royal Precision Rifle Lite (7.0) steel shafts. I'm tinkering with the new i5 irons, but these have been in my bag since 1999, so it's hard to switch." - Chris DiMarco

Thanks!

Hmmm, interesting, It actually sounds like either Dimarco or Golf Digest is confused. The i3+ didn't come out until '02, although the i3 was out in '99.

Also looking at the clubs I thought they were Blue Dots, but since he painted the letters, he may have repainted the dot as well, which would be an interesting concept for the Ping dot classification. Although it looks like he painted the Zing Wedges because one is orange and one is blue

edit 1 - I think I am beginning to like demarco more and more after seeing this whole club painting thing, strange.

I thought about that, only '99 was when the i3 was released and I figured they probably didn't have the + in the makings 3 years prior to release.

I Kinda like the paint as well, I may have to toy around with it. I think Maverick had some kind paint for fill in work like that on his web site at one time, he did it on the bottom of his irons.

Here's a link from another golf forum where you can see how a lot of guys have changed the paintfill on their clubs.

Been here four years and still not sure how to answer that..! It's like living and working in any city, as western as an Arab city could be, I guess. Damned hot for four or five months of the year, though!

No tax, so that's a plus..!

Where are you from originally? Wow, tax free? Is that why you live there? Can you describe what the hot weather feels like? Can you golf in the hot weather or is it too miserable? Hotter than Palm Springs in the summer? I live in Southern California so I'm a little spoiled......
